  1995 no big deal??

  when i discovered - only recently - the the masthead of the awake was changed in 1995 to eliminate "our creators promise" i found it apalling.

  it was a promise people!!

  i am curious, did the wtbts write articles or discuss this radical change or did they just slip it in?

  It began with an Enzyclopedia i bought and guess what i looked up? ... Destruction of Jerusalem 587bce

  So for me it was breaking up the information control because after that i read hours and hours on the internet. And also similarities to Orwells 1984 e.g. changing OWN history made me angry.

  in the aug. 1 wt, in a secondary article on numbers, the following paragraph appears:.

  "what were "the signs" around which the three-tribe divisions were to encamp in the wilderness?.

  the bible does not give a description of what these signs were.

  Even if they might be frightend about flags ... in this explanation they seem to be right!

  Numbers 2:2 The sons of Israel should encamp, each man by his [three-tribe] division, by the signs for the house of their fathers.

  So if they say you don't know what the "signs" (hebrew othot) are it is ok because hebrew "degel" in the NWT is translated with "[three-tribe] division"!!!

  Aren't they smart?

  btw. fun if you put it here:

  that older persons have outlived their usefulness, are unproductive and over-dependent

  I was asked to join a sheparding call on one of my book study (yes MS are conducting, if there are not enough elders). I thought of an elderly sister i knew from years ago - she also had a BS in her home - and she was at that time in a "Pflegeheim" (elderly home?. She couldn't even speak anymore due to physical handicaps. It was good to give her a visit by me and the PO i thought.

  His answer? "Better visit Brother xyz and encourage him reaching out to become a MS. This sister is visited by her family and that's enough".

  the themes jws prioritize that i know are armageddon, judgement day, christ.

  but can you all tell me why they prior.

  Main Theme: keep busy, do more in preaching work - Armageddon and Paradies are just around the corner.

  One only needs to learn about cults and could apply it to JWs

  July 15 Watchtower article on Blood

  in the 7/15 wt i dont recall the exact page, i dont have the magazine here at work but there is a chart that lists blood, what components are up to you and which ones are not allowed at all.

  anyway its very odd because they list which ones christians should avoid from left to right, i.e.

  red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, etc.
