Tiny Tim's daughter a JW.....

you know how when you look up something on the internet and it sparks your interest to look at something else, and then you click a link, etc.????

well, that happened to me and i ended up finding this information on a site regarding tiny tim and how his daughter didn't attend his funeral......(i don't even know what i originally looked up that lead me to this topic!!!

lol).....i asked miss sue about miss vicky and their daughter tulip.

LOL).....

I asked Miss Sue about Miss Vicky and their daughter Tulip. Miss Sue responds, "Tulip is a Jehovah’s Witness and they are not allowed to set foot in a church of another denomination, so she could not come to the funeral itself. However, she and her husband, her kids and her mother-in-law did come to Minneapolis at that time, and attended the dinner we gave after the funeral."

I hadn't heard this one before......just thought I'd share......

i thought i might post a link to a test web page i have thrown up on my unfinished (no time to finish it) web site.

some of the old timers on the board have seen some of my commercial work that i have posted from time to time (the 3d image of caged headed watchtower robots) and a very few have seen some of my fine art pieces that have been either published or seen at my home.

this temporary web page is up for a few friends to see the start of this new series and for a few collectors of my art who wanted to see that i am doing fine art again (after an 8 year layoff) so they can get the hell off my back.. before clicking on the link please understand that the first pieces of this new series, that i have put five examples up of, are nudes.

Does anyone else take Atenolol or Nitro-Glycerine?

i just got back from the doctor yesterday after discovering that my angina and valvular regurgitation from mitral valve prolapse are getting worse, and the angina lasting longer, and getting more intense.

i was on calan-(verapamil), but have now been switched to atenolol and nitro.

i was prescribed the nitro before, but never used it, as i was afraid to take it.

I have been taking atenolol for several years (25mg daily) to slow down my heart rate. I didn't think I was having any side effects from this medication or any of the several others I am taking. However, I did the Google search suggested by Undaunted Danny and the side effects mentioned for atenolol explain some of the peculiar events I've experienced (almost fainting, drowsiness and others). You never know what you'll learn about on this Forum.

Wow....I think I need to look up the side effects for this med, as I've been taking atenolol for several years now, primarily to prevent migraines, but my doc increased my dosage just a couple of weeks ago, due to my blood pressure increasing and having palpitations. I have been more drowsy lately, among other things, so I want to see if maybe it can be a side effect. I usually check my meds online, but since I've been on it for a long time, I never thought to look it up as a possible cause. You are so right, you just don't know what you'll learn here!!!! I'm so thankful for you all..... "Alana"

i just put the best cat in the world to sleep this morning, and i feel like a murderer.

he had cat aids, and he was so sick this last year.

I don't think it's at all shallow, and I don't think there's any heirarchy of suffering. Otherwise we could never grieve at all because there's always someone worse off.

I agree 100% with what Myauntfranny stated.

There is nothing shallow or silly about what you posted. It was full of love and caring for a part of your family and a part of your life. I love animals and my two spoiled rotten dogs are part of my life and family and I know that I will be a basketcase when their time comes. You were kind in putting your cat to sleep, definitely not a murderer, and caring for him as you did. It sounds like you able to give each other true love in life....which is more than some people/animals get to experience.

Hey, I may be down in the "Big Easy" in mid-October!! My fiancee is going for a conference. Last time he went I tagged along and enjoyed the French Quarter and other sites.....it was 2 years ago....on Halloween....now that was a FUN Halloween on Bourbon Street!!!!

Maybe a meet up is in order..... :-)

Feral elders

came to my door this morning.

seems they want to clean up the books or somesuch.

they said that they had some serious "accusations" against me, and would be having an elders meeting (...."uh..uh...it's a judicial meeting" ) this wednesday evening.

I had sent a certified letter to my previous P.O. and body of elders, based upon information from DocBob....his information was wonderful! I realize that each situation is different, but in my situation, using some of his language, quotes from the 'Elders' Manual', and the threat of legal action if any negative announcement is made about myself to either the congregation or members of the congregation seemed to have settled down the elders....and that has been about 6 years ago and they have left me alone. (however, my father was also ill and used to be high and mighty in the Circuit, so I thought that they might have left me alone out of respect for him and so that I, as his only child, could assist him in his illness....however, since his passing last year, I keep one eye looking over my shoulder waiting for them to come back....)

I wouldn't DA, as that just acknowledges their 'rules'. If they don't want me, then that's their decision, not mine.

It is just a shame that they feel that they have to "do something" at all. My dad had a Bible Study once (who was a bit slow to begin with) whose wife was very opposed. Finally, after several years of studying and attending meetings....and maybe being baptized, I'm not sure.....he decided to no longer attend. He wouldn't say why and he just wanted to be left alone. My dad kept ranting about how he needed to write a letter to DA himself..yadda yadda yadda. I finally told him that it was none of his business why that man wanted to stop attending and that it was rude for him to keep calling him and trying to get him to put anything in writing. My dad was mad at me, but I made it clear that I thought it was stupid to chase the poor, henpecked man down.

Chilling experience

o.k....most people that know me know me to be a rational and logical person not prone to hype or the sensational.

nor am i infatuated with the supernatural as many jw's/ex-jw's are/were.

with that said, let me relate what happened to me at work last night.. on saturday night, we had four bad burns come in.

Wow...what an experience. I just finished a book about such experiences and it amazes me how many people have such experiences. My fiancee's uncle had a similar experience and I got chills when I heard it, as it wasn't just a story in a book, but one from someone I know.

(was this, by any chance, a Houston hospital? I used to live in the southern suburbs of Houston...exactly between downtown Houston and Galveston....so, I just wondered if that haunted hospital was one I may have known.)

Amish in the City/The Village/JW's

i watched amish in the city tonight and saw the village last night.

been thinking a lot about comparisons with jws.

i found the rumspringa thing quite interesting ever since i saw devil's playground (watch it if you have a chance, great documentary!).

We live just north of an Amish settlement here in Illinois, and believe me, these Amish kids are NOT angels like some people believe. My first husband's JW congregation was in that territory and they had some stories about those amish kids and their double-lives....and even the adults who lived double lives....which, I suppose, is not unlike some JWs when you think about it.

I've been flipped off by cute little amish kids....no older than 7....that blew me away, as I thought that they should not even have known what that was, let alone do it to someone! My ex talked about how they would get drunk (hide booze out in the fields and drink as they worked or during drinking parties by the youth), changed into 'English clothes' at school (those who attended the 'english schools'), cursed like sailors, had radios in their buggys, had pornography, and had premarital sex just like other worldly kids.

In fact, some amish have what is called, I think, "bed courting"....where young ones will sleep with their dates in the same bed with all their clothes on.....with no chaperones......now, tell me....how many do you think REALLY kept all of their clothes on? I read about this from some who used to be amish and from my ex's friends whose friends were amish.

I just think that any group that portrays that they are so meek, mild, Christian, holier-than-thou.....JW's included.....are just setting themselves up for a fall, because they can't all live up to the ideals that are set for them.

(oh yeah, I almost forgot about the amish drug ring...seems like some liked to earn extra money by getting into the meth business)

Why? I was adopted. There is nothing wrong with being adopted, in fact they can even tell her how special she was to have been chosen by them.

I am a very firm believer in telling children if they are adopted. It can be bad if, for some reason they find out about it later--especially if from someone else. I always knew I was adopted and I had issues enough, but I had a friend who did not find out until an adult....from someone outside of the family and it was very hurtful...they felt betrayed and like their parents lied to them.

JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES & Book BURNING (CDs TOO!)

ok, i admit it...as a jehovah's witness, i burned a book.

when i was about 10 years old, a sister gave my mother a box of books.

i had been baptized for over a year and was quite the "little witness.

I destroyed some good AC/DC 8-tracks (ok, so THAT shows my age) and some other good rock albums. However, I have since replaced most of them on CDs now. Long live ROCK!
