Would You Like It If The Elders Called You To See How You're Doing?
by minimus ini read how some seem to complain that the elders never visited or even made 1 call to see how they were doing.
would you really want the elders visiting and calling you at this point in time?

After the way I was treated by them....no way! But if they showed up anyway, I would try to act innocent and ask "questions" about how they would handle the situation I was in. I would also ask why somep people can talk to their dfd relative and not get in trouble at all and why my parents will not allow me to even enter their home or be at a family (worldly) function?
....and in the end, tell them that now that I have seen what unconditional love is, get out of my house.

Anyone Remember the Skating Parties From the 70's ?
by Perry inhere in the usa during the late 70's, witnesses would rent an entire skating rink and hundreds of kids would show up.
it was great fun and a chance to socialize without quoting scriptures.
it seems like just because some were engaging in fornication and smoking in the parking lots that the society put a stop to it.

Every Sunday for us too! Many bethelites attended...it was the highlight for all us girls to see if the ones we had crushes on would ask us for the couples skate!! At that point, we were just thrilled to hold their hand!!

1. Finding myself, the ability to think for myself, getting the confidence to have an opinion that wasn't given to me.
2. Unconditional love from my fiance, daughter, and friends.
3. Reconnecting with my "worldly" family...having them receive me unconditionally and love me the same way.
4. Being free to try everything and anything I want to do with no limits! (I try to be good )

You and I are only about 3 hrs from each other! And wow, do I know what you mean about the way the heavies would ignore you, even though you grew up with them. So many of the heavies used to stay at our house, but when I went to bethel, it was like they did not even know me. Sometimes, if they were forced by circumstances, they would ask "how are your parents?". I think of bethel as sort of the cast system of life. The heavies are the upper cast and the "newboys" are the lowest of the casts. Right?

Were You Afraid of The DEMONS???
by minimus inmost witnesses believe satan and his demons are looking at them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
were you one of those?
how did you handle stories of demons, witchcraft, etc.??

Hi growed up! After that happened, I was terrified to go to bed, never lost the fear of what was under my bed for the rest of my childhood. I still would look under the bed when I was 17! Of course, I also had those nightmares like I mentioned in the other post about demons/dreams. But after I left the dubs I read everything I could about the supernatural stuff and formulated some opinions and eventually stopped being in fear like the dubs totally instilled.
You can only imagine what it felt like to be in that kind of terror!

Hi minimus, now, when I look back on it, I don't think it was "demons" in the sense that the dubs meant. But I do believe they were ghosts with a nasty personality! I guess I would say that I do believe in the supernatural beings ability to show themselves in some way to us. I also had a friend at school as a kid that had a "friendly" ghost in her house. It used to move furniture the way it liked it, even though her mom kept changing it back. The mom finally gave up and just left it the way it was.
I don't believe they chose to attack us because mom was studying (that's what the dubs told her). I believe that the farm I went to obviously had a strong presence (hair standing up on my neck) and it came home with me. End of story. But, to this day, I am very careful about any type of negative occult things--just in case!

{{{{{{{{{{all of you}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Some of you have alot in common with me...and some of you have been through other things. I am honored that you shared your stories with all of us. How I wish there was some magic thing that would take all the pain away!
For me, the worst is a long list, like Lady Lee....
Having the love of my life (pre-abusive husband) reject me.
Finding out on my wedding night what a horrible mistake I had made.
Being raped by my husband.
Being verbally and physically abused by him.
Watching him beat myself and my mother, with my 4 year old daughter in his other arm.
Finding out that the abusive elder husband is having affair with my best friend--also a pioneer.
Finding out that my daughter was abused by her father.
Being stalked by the ex for 3 years with the police never able to catch him.
Being df'd for adultery because I had a friend stay overnight to protect me from the stalking husband (no adultery happened)
etc...the list could go on and on...
