August 2017 Watchtower - Screwing with J.W.'s minds again
by The Searcher inin the latest issue of double-speak, i'd like to highlight these two statements:.
page 3, par.
2 - "...how encouraging it is to know that jehovah’s faithful servants in the past felt free to express the same question that may loom in our minds, and they were not condemned for asking it!

Does the Average R&F JW understand what grace is in Christianity ?
by smiddy ini`m showing my ignorance here , not being an active member of any church before joining jw`s as a 19 yr old ,whenever i was ever confronted with the question of "grace" i was always at a loss to give an effective answer from a jw point of view.. was it just me ?
or did anybody else have a similar experience ?.
(ps , i dont think i ever heard the expression " grace" in a religious sense in all my 33 years in the borg.studying the wt.).

Grace makes one feel like a safe child in a loving parents arms, undeserved kindness makes you feel like you need to be thankful for the privilege of being in a group home for unwanted kids lucky enough to have a meal and a bed. Shut up, do your chores to justify your spot in the 'loving home' if you break our rules or even ask why they shove you out the door with a kick in the ass .
Thats why the Bible was wrong and WT fixed it lol. Perfect reply Outlaw!
No, the average JW doesn't understand Grace. Watch the squirm when the song Amazing Grace is played.

Circuit Overseer's Idiotic Comment
by FedUpJW inat last night's clam the circuit overseer made this comment, "we elders sometimes have to act as judges in the congregation.
but we (the elders) are imperfect, and so cannot know everything about judicial matters.
that is why we (the elders) have the biblical rule that there must be at least two witnesses to wrongdoing.

Ugh. I wonder if (weeee elders) daughter was molested for years by an individual and no 2 witnesses by definition.. if he'd feel the same way.

Perhaps a coordinated registry on one website that includes each country naming victims, and all jw forums can link to it. Just a simple private registery that emails receipt and data input to the victim with an I.d. # on the public side to show the victim count. If it collects the data, then lawyers can utilize it in class actions around the world. I guarantee that America has several thousands alone probably tens of thousands. The collective has a much better chance of suing the corporationssss and the GB individuals in America. It would be public and too big to sweep under the rug. I would venture to say most ex Jw's check in on forums once in awhile as well as Facebook. So it could organically get huge quickly. I'll put my name on that list! I'm not computer savvy to know how to develop one, but if anyone is and would do so, it would help the movement. Perhaps Cedars can coordinate with that group and host such a site or knows if one is available? Hope you are reading these posts John 😉

We are becoming champions of grief. We lost twin B.
by Darkknight757 inlast week we had a reassurance ultrasound with our ob.
she was just supposed to check heartbeats on the two little ones and they were going strong!
but because she had extra time and she can be quite anal about her work (which is a good thing) she decided to take some measurements.

Sending you love in your time of deep sadness and grief, and wishing you, your beautiful wife and twin A comfort, blessings, health and gentle nudge to keep focused on staying as present with twinA as much as possible sending your baby as much joy and love and higher vibrations as he/she comes into the world. (perhaps A is feeling sadness and grief too as close as twins are?) Darknight, thank you for sharing your grief and reaching out to us. You are loved and everyone is praying for your family in our own ways, but here for you.
Blessings and love,
xo

If you had to choose
by dothemath inif you had to choose to belong to 1 religion, i was curious as to what any on the forum would pick.. i realize most here are likely atheist (i would have to say i'm agnostic), but if any would like to share their opinion, and maybe why?.

Loving yoga and it's diversity. Gods symbolize forces of nature so ... go meditation! Haha Hari Krishna but no street witnessing...so done with that !
been to a non-denom. Grace Christian that I really like and I enjoy watching Joseph prince when he's explaining Jesus in the Old Testament types and the New covenant . Learned more bible truths watching his broadcast then reading watchtowers 40 years. I don't agree with everything he says such as hell stuff and I'm extremely cautious of personality cults but I've never heard a more beautiful revelation of Ruth and Boaz, the prodigal son and the organization of the twelve tribes around the tabernacle, priestly functions and garment meanings, etc. if any enjoy those topics... check them out. I also read the Christ Conspiracy which gives some evidence that the Bible is a history book of astrological symbols in a couple "zodiacal ages"... pretty interesting.
Ive also discovered the physicist mathematician Nassim Haraseim, and his u-tube videos about sacred geometry are fascinating. He talks about the pyramids, ark of covenant in the context of geometry. He has recently done a movie with Patrick Stewart narrating about the consciousness of the universe. He Solved/unified the divide between quantum and relativity models with a unification equation and recently was published in peer reviewed science so he's the real deal and the movie is excellent !
I know that's not one religion, so I'm gonna say I'm just gonna keep on learning as much as i can and not get all caught up in someone else's absolutes. So Romans 1:20...

They'd have to catch me first....lol. But, even so, they hold no authority over me so it wouldn't change my situation at all. Never going back so whoever wants to spend time with me will. Its funny how when I run into old friends they assume my life should be awful, and seem so confused when they see how happy I am married to my worldly guy, how lovely my kids are so well-adjusted and happy looking forward to college and playing sports, going to prom, etc. that I have a fantastic life! Whats funny is that the ones you do run into and speak with think they are being used by the spirit to move you to return... smh.
i enjoyed all your comments y'all ! It helps to hear similar stories and even laugh about it...Blondie (red dot, lol)

Never Thought I'd Say This, But I've Found Something to Look Forward to in the Meetings
by Sorry inmy therapist inspired me to start looking on the bright side.
even though i've pretty much given up listening to the bs and usually tune out the meeting by playing on my phone/tablet, i find the local needs talk oddly fascinating.
probably because it's the only part that doesn't seem outlined to death (at least at our hall), and you truly don't know what you get.

My parents still in my life so a few weeks ago. My sister and friends, best friends, 6 years. Sucks! I don't care much about the congregation association, while I enjoyed and love everyone, they don't pull at my heart. I miss my sister and her family, especially now with my nephew having his first kid. But they only solution is GB finds old new light again (back to the 40's with the KM on how excommunication is a demonic mind fk) and lifts the shun or I go back in which I'll never do because of the lying and manipulation of the doctrine. It's really objectively a personality cult. I can't fake it and they'd all know just by my face lol.

Doe, et al v National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, PA.
by Richard Oliver inthis is a lawsuit brought by watchtower against an insurance company.
the company provided four insurance policies between 1989 and 1993. the policies were there to pay out any liability damages that would arise during that time from any damages caused by elders and mss advice.
there were a number of exceptions that were spelled out in the policy which included that of a sexual nature and that if an elder or ms violated a law then the payout would not qualify.
