The Witness was/is a "racist". I was told by her that I could not go to the local Kingdom Hall, or have a copy of the Watchtower or Awake because I was Black. And that the Bible was not for Blacks because they were too dumb to understand it.
I am not a Witness, but had family members who were ones. I "often" do read the Watchtower and Awake articles, and have go to the Kingdom Hall (in other areas) with friends and relatives.
This is the first time I have had this experience. You usally can't stop them from bringing you "more and more" Watchtowers and Awakes once you have taken one they have offered you.

Sorry, that happened to you, it must hurt to be treated that way. Is it possible that this person is mentally ill or has a brain tumor? I know someone raised as JW that never even became one. Then when she got a brain tumor she started going around to her neighbors knocking on doors, offering the WT and Awake magazines (she was in her night gown).

Although, there is prejudice no matter where we go in life, those comments are not consistent with a typical JW. The one thing I?d have to say about the JWs as a whole is that, at least intellectually, they mostly are not racists.

WT to "donators" take your money back, please

i had an interesting conversation this weekend with an elderly sister.

she told me about a letter she received from wt not more than a month ago.

it seems they had a program in place where they would "hold" money that would be used in the event of your death to pay funeral arrangements.

I knew a sister that donated $3000.00 to the WT. A couple years her husband, who is not a JW, found out about it and he was very angry. She asked them for the money back and they gave it to her.

another kid wrote "minnie mouse" above her head on the blackboard; the purpose of the game being that she had to guess "who" she was, by asking the class questions.

Actually, she was right, Minnie Mouse is not a girl, Minnie Mouse is a female mouse and a cartoon character. Your wife should have stopped the class from speaking to her in that manner. If I was her mother, I?d have your wife reprimanded for allowing such an outburst. Shame on you both and your wife is stupid if she thinks a Mouse is a girl.

So her first question was "Am I a boy?". The class answered "No".
She next asked "Am I a girl?" and the class answered "Yes".
Suddenly a little Jehovahs Witness girl in the front row yelled out "But Minnie Mouse is not a girl!!!!'
All the class screamed at her, telling her how stupid she was for giving away the answer. The poor little JW girl realised then what she had done, and promptly started crying and cried all lesson.
My wife felt really sorry for her! But if I was the teacher I would have had her DISFELLOWSHIPPED!!!!

Response from my elders about UN

i presented that document to an elder from our hall... he called and told me exactly what i expected they would say (library card deal).

so i wrote the un and got a letter back saying they were totally seperate and so forth, and fwd'd it to the same elder.

he told me at the meeting that night that he called again and got in touch with someone who knew something.
