I've been reading posts all day. I haven't for some months now and remebered a nasty experiance when I was about 5yrs old. ...
We were standing in a cue at a Convention when my Mom dropped her "food stamps" . A kind Bro bent down and helped Mommy pick them up.
The kind bro then noticed my Mommy's name tag was loose. He grabbed her chest. Fastened the tag ...copped a "generous" feel and said to me oops... I hope I didn't puncture it! He laughed and walked away in full view of all in the cue.
Can you believe it! Man, I only remebered that today...and it happened nearly 40 yrs ago!

Ok I'M BACK FOR SOME MORE FUNNIES...just wen't outside for a smoke...hehehehe.
I'd like to tell you another story quickly. Another dumb bro I know one day said "no ma'am!" as well. He took his passport and fled! His wife and her kind pals tracked him over two continents and when his cash was out he came home like a lap dog.hehehehe.
Moral of the story>>>>plan your escape better!
Buy a disguise if you must but don't be a sucker.Grow a beard..get a tatoo because if you're gonna be a wimp at the mall your headed back to the hall !!! hehehe .Man a mid life crisis is the best isn't it!
PS ??? ARE THOSE KIDS REALLY MINE ! THEY LOOK JUST LIKE BRO SO AND SO'S ..hehehe.
Ok I'd better go now before I fall off my chair onto a tract! hehehe..cheers Garyb.

My wife put the elders on me almost immediately when I started to doubt ! he he he man did that backfire!!!! They told her "maybe ,if she didn't act like Saul's wives, I'd come around again"...say what?
Yea, if youre gonna blame someone for loosing the sheep, blame the wife ! After all she did once go to the hall wearing a mini! Poor bro Nadsam...he didn't stand a chance.
No seriously now ! One of the bizarre blame game tactics I saw when the battle for my soul was being fought was the elders turn on my wife after she busted me? She had reported me for being very very naughty and they told her that if its anyones fault, then its hers. Yeras Later when one of those kind bastards con'd her out of some cash she started to wake up. Man life is good isnt it.
I said to her "no, ma'am !" You go along to the hall without me tonight ! I really do like hanging out at stripper bars ....check ya later! he he he

I would like to ask this question and ask for your patience please.
Who has the real truth then ?
I found this forum last year and since then I have read many posts. Many people are still eager to quote from the bible etc.Its almost as if they are still JW's. (I don't mean to disrespect anyone, but the language used at times is not the language of the churches) . My experiance was when I left the WT ten years ago that I basically never picked up a bible again. I am just saying that I lost all interest in religion because there are so many more contradictions even than the JW's. Not that I disagree with quoting the bible . But I keep asking myself as I read these posts why would one still believe in religion at all? Who can you trust for the real truth ? WHO HAS THE REAL TRUTH THEN ?.
One thing we have in common I suppose is the whole JW experiance in our lives and maybe we each just deal with our getting out differently.

I was a pioneer, bethalite & MS in the 70's - early 90's . I bought into the whole no education bull. Had a crappy car and was perpetually broke. Come weekend..well at least there was FS and hall. Then I said no ma'am ! I got out, got a degree, a six figure income, BEEmer, house with a pool....and a life !
What I did realize was that those that didn't get a formal education at that time (mid 70,s-90's's) are today middle aged, some still living at home with mommy and daddy , still as broke as hell ...are they happy? or just crazy people !
Ignore those idiots who tell you studying is evil. Didn't they used to tell that to slaves in the middle ages who wanted to learn to read and write!

I cant get away!

why do i still have nightmares about the end?

Dear Stephanie , I am a Newbie so please bear with me.
I live in a country that was ravaged by civil war for decades. At that time I was a good little JW. Despite this I saw many war atrocities. Its 10 yrs now that the war is over and nearly 10 yrs now that I left the WT (the two events had nothing to do with the other though). I too was plagued for years with "night terrors" feelings of insecurity and fear of bodily harm, after all you never really forget a scene where a violent act has taken place. Not that this was related to the JW's because my outlook was that Armaggedon was there to save me from this hell on earth, but rather from the horror's I had seen.
I often think i'm a tough old SOB / nut to crack but I found that the only thing that worked for me was finding pleasant things to occupy my time with. The first thing I did was get a college Degree. This I did at night school...no more meetings or time sitting infront of the TV ! The second thing I did was get some pets. I have several cats and any cat lover will tell you that a cat doesn't take any nonsense. Thet are Great to show on weekends at Cat shows, YOU ALSO MEET A LOT OF COOL PEOPLE...hey presto no time for FS. Lastly I became an IT "amateur" hobbyist. Great for those nights when you cant sleep.
What I'm trying to say is that when I had lots of idle time for idle thoughts its easy to go to that dark place. Those memories that you want to forget surface even easier.Find ways to enrich your life. Especially things you can do with your kids. I know that Armaggedon mental imagery can be frightning, but If you think of all the "hellfire" paintings churches have used for centuries, isn't it time to say NO MORE ! I know you'll feel better if you can get rid of the baggage and get some happy things to focus on.
PS I noticed certain medications I was using at one time had nightmares as a side effect. Well worth exploring with your GP. Good luck.

Reminds me of a time about 20 yrs ago when I was in Bethel. I returned to my home town to Pioneer and fell in love with a beautiful young sister in the congregation. Her father was an Elder & so was mine. I was also an MS on my way to being an Elder....when lo and behold, I wasn't good enough for her. Why you may ask? Well for starters I was broke most of the time, had a crappy car and basically could only offer field service as a date.
Lo and behold!!! she ran off with her boss at work , had a kid and then had the audacity to call me up six months lateer, when he dumped her??!!
So I let her travel the 1000 miles to come see me. Ha Ha she knocked at my door and I pulled the famous fake/make as if your not home stunt. About a week later her cash was out and she left.. never to be seen again.
The reason I tell this story....because at that low point when she ran off with her boss I was driving at night on my way to do some return visits (alone) when drowning in self pity I made a decision. I had to get out of this insanity and GET A LIFE!

I am sorry to read this sad tale but from my own experiances (35yrs a JW) basically you only have three options......
Option 1...Go back wholehaertedly to your old JW habits and silently agree to disagree for the sake of your family and friends. Despite what anybody says deep down you know that the majority of the JW's are good kind people who mean well however misguided they may be.
Option 2.... Get out...with a bang
I chose option 2 about 10 years ago. At first my wife was really confused & angry....ha ha ...guess what baby i'm having a midlife crisis ha ha ha so unless you wanna go with me to choose a christmas tree better get going to that meeting co's tonight i'm going party...ha ha.
Seriously though in hindsight it can be painful and lonely at first , but eventually it will come to the point that either you cut yourself loose or they do it for you.Trust me your spouse won't dump you. She can't . You have just become her new project.
