  at the circuit overseer's talk last week he made the comment that some "of the friends" are finding it difficult to move ahead with jehovah's organization (tm).

  the co said that a few had asked, "is it necessary to have 5 meetings a week, and a magazine every other week?".

  "couldn't we do without one meeting a week, and have monthly editions of the watchtower?

  just a note for all those who have not been to a circuit assembly latley.

  i went with the wife to keep peace in the family and thought those on the board would like to see the program.

  of interest was the last talk "pay constant attention to divine instruction".

  I hated that! My condolences.

  Of interest was the last talk "Pay Constant Attention to Divine Instruction"... the scripture that was used to defend the WTBS and trash the apostates was 1 John 4:1. As you can quess the theme of the talk was beware of apostates, internet, and maybe TV.

  The talk should have been named "Pay Constant Attention to WTS Instruction."

  Their scared of the possibility that people in the congregations will start thinking for themselves again and they will lose their power and control over them.

  So what do you do when you "test the inspired expressions" get DF?

  Only if you fail to perform the nessasary mental gymnastics to make the WTS right at all times and come the conclusion that their wrong about something! hahahaha

  I noticed a title of one talk was "Listening When God Speaks Safeguard Us" when what the title should really be is, "Listening When the Sock Puppet Speaks Safeguard Us."

  That would be the truthful thing to say since the GB likes to put words in Gods mouth and distort the truth about His people's freedoms as individuals!

  After several talks I believe it is official. Armaggedon is dead. We can no longer tell "interested ones about armegeddon, but can only tell them about the new paradise government.... THis was on a few assembly parts, but now it is in the service and tms meetings. So what does this mean?

  That's an interesting shift. It's no doubt designed to make the message more appealing. It used to be pretty 'in your face' with a 'conform or DIE' attitude.

  Does this mean they should expect more people to survive it?

  I have believed for a long time that the Great Crowd will be very great. I was never convinced that ONLY baptized persons will survive.

  yup i studied again, after eight years and being shunned asfter .

  reinstatement and staying away for eight years with an old brother, he was a good teacher kind and all, but when it came to the subject of the society's view on child abuse and shunning i heard the same old idiotic excrement.

  i thought they have changed in view of all the law litigations.

  She's right of course. Don't fall prey again to the cult culture that exists in the WTS. Stick to YHWH on a personal level and keep your distance from the Witnesses. IMO

  since leaving the dubs 5 years ago i have gained a new appreciation for this life.

  since this life is the only one i know for sure that i have i have tried to take every opportunity that comes my way.

  well, for a few years now i have been entertaining the idea of planning my escape from the american rat-race.

  Well, for a few years now I have been entertaining the idea of planning my escape from the American rat-race.

  My true passion is surfing. It keeps me healthy, body and soul...I am seriously thinking of cashing out and moving to Costa Rica...

  The Rat Race is not unique to the US. I would strongly suggest you make every effort to find happiness here in the US rather than totaly uproot and very possibly lose all you've gained and may not be able to regain. Consider exploring other sports and activities that will move you equaly, perhaps even more than surfing. What other things have you tried? I'd explore everthing, especialy if I had a Six Figure income! Myself, I get a great deal of enjoyment and a feeling of freedom riding my motorcyle. I own a 1200cc race bike and it is very exhilerating to travel down the highway at 100+ Who knows what other things may 'do it for you' like surfing does now?

  What have I overlooked? What would you realistically do?

  I would'nt cash-in unless I was wealthy and my future was in my control.

  i,m going to cut to the chase here .i am not long viewing this website and am fascinated at much of what i have read.currently i attend meetings, but sit there and think of what i now know about the society and its past.i just feel so confused at the moment with religion.. its a bit like who shot jfk ,did man really land on the moon etc .. except it involves all of us( just wish i knew the truth).

  the only thing that is keeping me there right now is that all my family are in the "truth" ,,and i cant just stay at home and be shunned which i have recently experienced ( was inactive for a while) .. if i knew beyond any shadow of a doubt that i have found the true faith and discern that it is definately the true faith, i would then make a stand and nothing would stop me .

  already i am reading the scriptures without the aid of wt publications and what i am reading is amazing .i am starting to feel that i am now getting closer to god by simply doing this coupled with prayer.. there must be one true faith as there was in the first century.

  I'll go with what Heathen said, it makes sense to me...

  I know God used frogs as a plaque on egypt in moses day and that the egyptians were able to produce frogs when challenging moses authority . In revelation it does explain that they are inspired expressions of demons that go out to the kings of the entire inhabited earth and gather them together for the war of the great day of God almighty .

  New apostate scare?

  i'm curious if anyone else who still attends meetings keeps hearing the same drek about apostates at every meeting?

  i have been, and it gets to me a little, seeing as i feel like a snake in the grass.

  has anyone else noticed this insane amount of focus on apostates?

  What the WTS really is afraid of is people thinking on their own. Apostates represent that to them.
