It is unbelievable to me that after 20 years in the Org to be cut off and treated with such coldess by close family and friend because of the mere fact that I am no longer attending the meetings.

howdy everyone, i must start by saying "thank you"for posting all this information on the jw way of life in here, i appreciate everything that you guys are putting out there, both for your own use and to help others like me.

i've posted a couple times, but mostly i'm here to learn, but now it's time for me to ask questions!.

i am not a jw, i was involved with one for several years, and we have a son.

We've been to court, he's been ordered to do certain things (and not do certain things) and he still does what he wants. I know talking to him and trying to reason are wasting my time, but my attorney says that's the route I have to take for now.

Get another Attorney and take your son's father back to court! Make him respect the Court decision and document EVERYTHING!

Heathen, in one short paragraph you described perfectly the enviroment that exists within the Witnesses. I do believe your being 'kind' when you say,

No, it's there, it's real! Everything you said was absolutely correct...I wish I had said it!

That's not how it's supposed to work, though I'm sure that is often the case.

From God's standpoint DF'ing is a way of both giving us a 'Time Out' and protecting others from being influenced badly.

I'm labeled as rebellious and unloving because I won't tuck my tail and cater to the JW's rules...

That's the problem in a nutshell...JW rules rather than God's.

JW Mentality

i recently received a visit from a sister who is moving out of the area.

she was telling me how she would live in her new place on the weekends and then stay here locally in an apartment (mon - fri) while she and her husband finish out their last year before retirement.

what made the conversation so mental was she was explaining this to me in terms of how she would be attending her meetings.

Why do JWs feel obligated to let others know that they are not missing any meetings?

To make sure everybody knows their 'spiritual' and not to mark them! It's part of their 'cult mentality.'

No KHalls for Hurricane relief

eldubs in florida (maybe elsewhere too) have been told that the kingdom halls should not be used for relief efforts or for shelters.

liability and insurance issues were stated as the reason.. will try and get a copy of this letter.. of course the kingdom halls are supposed to be the center of true worship and a place of comfort but i guess only in fair weather.

what a crock.

If the 'Letter' is real, then it's a revealing look at who the Witnesses have become. They are now what they fear most...Apostates!

i remember when i first googled "jehovah's witnesses".

i was sick to my stomach because i feared that i was disobeying jehovah.

although i was scared that i would find something "apostate" or "demonic", i still continued to click on different links.

I felt an enormous sensation that I was willfully disobeying God.

It's truely a crying shame what the Governing Body has done to God's people! They have abused their authority, manipulated the Congregation with Fear and Guilt, used 'Tricky Speach' to entrap and oppress them AND equated obediance to them with obediance to God thus elevating themselves to GOD'S LEVEL!!!

They are Proud men and are no better than the Scribes and Pharisees of ancient Israel!!!!!!

i have a large extended family (4 siblings) and i have been many nieces and nephews.
