Flash, you should like this then. In those selfsame pararagraphs, is this gem:
"True,
manyChristian men have priveleges in the congregation that women do notexpect tohave...nevertheless, the same faith, endurance, and high moral standards are required of all... (crossouts added) (para 9)Your right, when I read that I started to fume, "women do not expect to have..." ??? Only because they've been told not to 'expect' them! The Witnesses are disciples of Paul more than they are followers of Christ.
I was surpised though that they even aknowledged that women were 'in any way' equal to men.

8, 9. In what ways are women equal to men?
This should be the subject of WT Study Articles, Public Talks and Assembly Programs! -

When the Society started to derail? - I love history

the watchtower is into apostacy.. any new one who still believes in the watchtower should take a look at this.. .

OldSoul,
Almost agree completely...too.
Almost agree completely. During the periods of apostasy he honored his covenant with his friend, Abraham. Otherwise he would have eradicated them more than once.
There is no need for a specific organization to carry out the fulfillment of the remaining promises. In fact, structured organization is not required if Holy Spirit is real. Bureaucracy always limits the free exchange of ideas.
Respectfully,
OldSoulGod sets up organizations to keep order and advance His purpose. There is an Organization/Kingdom in Heaven and there will be one on Earth (Matthew 6:10) Also, Paul was enlisted by Jesus to help build the early Christian congregation/organization and he worked hard to maintain it.

Job and the resurrection
by peacefulpete inoften the wt claims that the writer of job believed in the resurrection doctrine as espoused by the jws.
the usual verses lifted from context are 14:13-15 which says: .
if only you would set me a time .
-
Flash
13 "If only you would hide me in the grave [ b ] and conceal me till your anger has passed! If only you would set me a time and then remember me!
It is clear to me that Job understood both the power of God and the permenance of death that was apparent to him. Like Joseph's insight, knowing it was wrong to lie down with another mans wife. I see no undoing of the resurrection teaching here.

Welcome to the Board Freedom
Dear Friends,
Should we assume that the nation of Israel was not in a relationship with Jehovah because they were apostate most of the time?
Agape,
FreedomYes, because by their apostacy they chose to no longer be in a relationship with Him. Jehovah honored His covenant in spite of their leaving Him.

Something Pope John II and the WTS have in Common.
by Flash ini thought this was sadly amusing.
"the church cannot be an association of freethinkers," john paul said.
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20050402/d897fnb80.html ...john paul also held separate sessions with dutch and u.s. prelates, summoning them to the vatican to admonish them for liberal practices, such as questioning priestly celibacy.. sound familar??

When I first read this article it caused me to aknowledge that the same struggle with religious organizations is going on elsewhere. I have for the most part, had tunnel vision toward our problems with the WTS. This article reminded me it isn't just us and that intolorance to new thought is not uncommon.

-if ever in your mind you wonder as to whether the leadership at watchtower has some level of sincerity, or perhaps as you move deeper into your pursuit of the real truth, you find yourself having doubts that you are doing the right thing in "doubting" the watchtower ?then read on.

14 No plague or miracle will able to persuade people that Watchtower was speaking on behalf of Jehovah.
I agree with you completely. This is exactly the message they intended to convey to the congregations!
And yes, they will pay! The Master is coming!

Sound familar??"When the pope does that which isn't part of his office, he cannot demand obedience in the name of Catholicism. He must expect dissent," nearly 200 theologians from German-speaking countries said in a 1989 declaration.

some please make sense of this!
by sad and lonely inhi people!..i have a serious question.and i often wonder have anyone one earth thought this way too!
why when there's a funeral the preacher always say..."got called his son or daughter home.i went to a family funeral, not this relative lived a bad (with a capital bad) life.the family knew it.he was evil, hateful, treated people wrong, yet the preacher said he's gone to heaven...so i'm now thinking then what the hell!..is hell for.no matter what i always hear the preacher say that person is gone to heaven...i asked my brother-in-law,why don't anyone say ...this person is in hell(since hell is suppose to be a place for the sinners)are the preachers afraid to say that around the families?i'm confused!

Preachers always say kind things for the sake of the living, to comfort them.

God help the world if power ever really did belong in their hands! Communist countries will seem like teletubbie land compared to the "paradise earth".
I truly believe the reward most Witnesses expect to get will NOT be the one they recieve! From the Top Down they will all get a very rude awakening when the Master arrives! Luke 12: 46-48
