Ohhh I didn't know what CYA. Thanks. :) Makes sense. It's good to know also that they can't use religious convictions as a reason for refusing -- I would assume that would apply to distributing the morning after pill, too?

My blood boiled!
by baysixforme inwhere shall i begin?
i once spent some time living in a womens refuge with my four children escaping from the domestic violence and emotional abuse that my husband deemed to be appropriate to bestow upon us.
apparently he had the blessing of my congregation to do so.

Bay - Welcome to the board and thanks for sharing your story. I admire your strength... too bad we can't always say the things we want to say to creeps like that.

He refused to fill them because they cause cancer?!?! Isn't that for the FDA to determine, not a lone pharmacist? Sheeeesh.

We're talking about birth control pills, not abortion pills, Yeru. If a pharmacist isn't going to serve his patients... then he needs to (a) work at a pharmacy large enough to ensure there will be someone to do what he refuses to do, or (b) get another job. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. :)

I saw that -- so devastating. I would think it wouldn't be too hard to prove she was insane... but oh my, whatever the reason, it is just so devastating. :(

I hope this doesn't sound too brash or closed-minded... it might... But if I had beliefs that strong -- that there would be certain scripts I would refuse to fill, then I would not work in that field. It seems no different than saying, I want to be a cop, but I don't want to help people of a certain group or people who make certain decisions. When your job is to help people and people rely on you to perform an imperative service, such as filling a prescriptions, then your personal beliefs need to take a back seat to the commitment you have made to your patients and your profession.
Makes me mad. :(

How to respond to any JW about The Watchtower being an NGO
by Bluegrass Tom ini prepared the following in abrief essay form from my research on the subject.. please read it through.
it will take a few minutes.i believe it is comprehensive enough for use with almost anyone.. if any one wants it in word ot pdf format, i can email it you.. a matter of reason.
the issue of being disturbed by the watchtower society becoming associated with the united nations as a non-governmental organization (ngo) is not a matter of faith, but a matter of reason.. .

Why did you choose your avatar?
by FMZ ini have seen many threads about avatars, here is another one:.
i have had this avatar for some time on another board.
i was going to put a picture of myself in there, but decided against it, as i realized this picture has some symbolism to me.

'Cause it looks kinda like me! :) (Minus the sparkles shooting from the midsection... hmmm). I have red hair and am youngish (20). And it's cute and isn't an exact likeness, so I can preserve some semblance of anonymity.

Websites with pictures from Watchtower/Awake/brochures?
by somebodylovesme ini know a few have been posted from time to time, but it's a rather hard thing to search for!
does anyone have links to sites (or topics) that have pictures from the different dub magazines?
both "paradise" and the end of the world depictions would be quite useful.
