The Witnesses I know think it's awful because, of course, Gibson isn't a Witness, so it's all wrong. They did say they were going to use it to place more "Greatest Man" books. *blech*

Google starts G-mail (1-GB) FREE...
by Special K inin the paper yesterday,.
google starting new service, g-mail.. g-mail will provide users with a huge one gigabyte (1gb) of free storage, making the need to clean out the e-mail box inbox irrelevent for most people.. the companies believe the new service will rewire the way information is retrieved in e-mail messages.
g-mail will automatically organise e-mail according to topic and allow users to search their messages --including who it is from, the text and subject lines---in the sam way they search the internet.

I really want to get one of those. I'm also an e-mail pack rat... I have saved every e-mail my hubby has ever sent me, from before our first date to the present. My hotmail gets full every other day. Definitely something to look in to... thanks. :)

OMG those things are CREEPY! I personally don't like eating anything that still has eyes... even if they are fake eyes. Animal crackers used to freak me out as a child.
(Yes, I'm strange.)

Do NOT laugh at me.... My nieces had vitamin bubble gum, and I tried it, and I'm hooked. 100% of everything in five minutes of chewing a piece of yummy bubble gum.

Welcome to the board, and thanks for sharing your story. There are a lot of great people who have been through everything, and I know (although I was never a Witness) that people have found a lot of strength in common experiences!
Best wishes to you as you start counseling. Take care. :)

Have You Ever Heard This Explanation Why 144,000 is a Literal Number?
by Had Enough inthe speaker said tonight (yes i went to the memorial to appease my worried family .
well he said its very simple....the scripture talks about the lamb and the 144,000. it doesn't say lambs as in more than one....no, it says lamb referring to the "literal number of one lamb".. so thats how we know that the 144,000 is a literal number and not symbolic like all the rest of revelation.. ok....now am i going bonkers...or has anyone else every heard that explanation before?
i know i never have and that doesn't make any sense to me at all.. had enough

I was never a Witness... but if I were at the Memorial or a meeting for the first time, I would probably never come back -- what kind of a crap explanation is that??

For what it's worth...
When I started dating my now-husband, he was an active Witness. He stopped going to meetings soon after we got together, not because of me, but because he finally felt like he didn't HAVE to, like there was someone to support him outside of the congregation. His last girlfriend was a Witness, but they were a match made in Hades and it was disastrous. So, he wasn't strong in the "truth" to start with, and our relationship was very, very normal. (Planning the wedding - now, that was another story.)
So, I guess I'm saying, I don't know what it would have been like if had been strong in the faith. But when we got together, he looked (to others) like he WAS. I, of course, was blamed for his fading, but we both know (and I know from his writings before our relationship) that he was mentally and emotionally out of the religion long before we fell in love.
If the person you are dating IS strongly in the faith, then you will have a harder time. But if there are doubts or if the person wants to live outside of the religion, then I think there is a greater chance for success.
Best of luck to you .
