it seems to me, many people become jw?s after a major event in their lives.
perhaps it is the death of a loved-one, such as a father, mother, child, wife, or husband.
on the other hand, it?s also my observation that a "major-event" often causes an active jw to rethink what they are doing with their life, whether they are really in the "truth," as jw?s call it.
That question in itself shows that we all lack. "Be careful those who think they are standing, that they do not fall." If you beleive you are not lacking then you already have fallen.

I just wanted to know, one way or the other, if the human thinking we have was deterministic. If it is not, I am happy.
i have a pretty interesting perspective on this.....especially since i once had all of my privledges removed because i had admitted to an elder that i was hungover..... the scriptures state that drunkards will not inherit gods' kingdom, nor will gluttons.... gluttony is the practice of over-eating, much the same is being a drunkard is one who is continuously drunk.
so, in my feeble mind, getting drunk "once-in-a-while" is not a sin, just the same as overeating at mcdonalds or at grandma's house is not a sin.. am i incorrect in my reasoning?.

I've known someone get called in for gluttony, it was after a congregation get together where the sister took half of a pumpkin pie and sprayed on twice the pie size in whip cream. Then went for ice cream and also went after as much food as possible. Nobody would have said anything, but it was in our home and she ended up breaking a chair with metal legs that she sat in. Everyone was more than displeased with her level of greed, so she was talked to and "councelled". I don't know what they talked to her about since that's private stuff, but last I heard, her parents were trying to save up to get her stomach stapled.

You know, I was considering a theory the other day. As scientists we don't understand the working of energy past it's properties. Where atomic energy comes from and what keeps it from dying out is beyond the scope of our current knowledge. Could the holy spirit actually be what the science community considers "Atomic energy"? We split atoms and a giant rush of energy is released, what if the answer to this is as simple as, this is the energy of creation? Then again, I could be way off base, hence the reason I need to study atomic physics more.

Well, let's consider the reasons for not becomming "Drunk". Anyone knows that being drunk affects your mental state. You are more subject to indulge in "negative" activities, for me it was sex with people I normally would not... wait, actually it was sex with people I normally would have sex with. But that's negative in alot of religeons (and kung-fu too). So obviously we don't want to act with degraded mental processes. Also, there are physical problems that come with repetitious drinking. So basically I figure if you are drinking and none of the above happens then it is more than likely okay. And for you who enjoy marajuana, it is not forbidden to take the smoke of marajuana in your body by the bible, but unfortunately alot of religeons beleive that going against the government is a sin when it has nothing to do with god, soooooo, marajuana is pretty much under the classification of alchohol except where government is concerned (I miss jamaica).

I once asked how I was diagnosed with emotional problems, and the reply was "You hate school right? That's an emotional problem." I research and read daily. I grow in intelligence, I have many people I consider a teacher. Is it that I hate school? Or I hate how the system of education worked with me? Their cure was to forcefully subject me to the informations I rejected. I was sent to psychologists and studied only to have those "specialists" say "Something is bothering him" You think?! They tried to force chemicals down my throat such as ridilin and other mind control elements but I refused. Then they decided after ignoring my pleas to put me in an institution where my education was more free form and an agreement between myself and the "teacher". I accelled right away. Perhaps we should try to listen and understand someone before we propose a method of teaching.
for the past two months, i have been fighting one cold after another, but what seems to never leave is the burning in my nose and throat.
six days ago my doctor perscribed cephalexin 500mg (antibiotic), but so far i am still miserable.
while looking online, many websites want to sell their various cures, usually for about $35.00 us.
The problem is that doctors tend to throw anti-biotics at a problem before they really know what the problem is. They also tend to prescribe very weak antibiotics before resorting to the "heavy duty" supply. Antibiotics are absolutely worthless against a viral infection. Not to mention anti-biotics also can trigger the destuction of aerobic bacteria in our body leading to an overgrowth of anerobic bacteria, especially in the digestive track. On top of that by using such drugs we also don't allow our bodies to fight off infections on their own and thereby not allowing our immune systems to increase in strength. My recommendation to anyone is if it's something you can bear, go to the doctor to make sure it's nothing to serious and see if you can't endure until the symptoms subside. If they don't get any better after awhile, then go to the doctor for more help. If it's viral, you're on your own.

I'm already insane and want to kill myself. The only thing stopping me is I'm trying to understand all of quantum physics and molecular biology. As for "waking up" and "seeing the light" I decided that I will never be a part of that group until the end of whatever we call this world happens. I am grief stricken with the eternal debate between deity or self created. If satan does exist, he is very careful not to show me any demonic forces, if God does exist, he has done alot of confusing me. If we are self-created, then I would say I didn't waste my early years, since religeon has probably elevated my intellectual level beyond what it would have been (in theory). That's at least what I'm telling everyone.
