How can I find out what my standing in the Org is?

there was never an announcement made.

i wrote them a letter not a da letter, but essentially i told them that me and my family simply wanted to "cease to be involved with the faith" at the time on their web site it said that you would not be shunned if you simply ceased to be involved with the faith.

i also said if they made an announcement that i would sue them for slander.

So then there is no way, short of my calling one of the elders of my old congregation, to find out what they labeled me as.

That's it. Of course you might not want to open that can o worms.

Going out with a bang

after much deliberation, i decided to go "out" at the end of a public talk.

it didn't go down too well, but at least i was able to give some of my reasons for leaving.. i've put some of the details on my homepage.

i'll update it more when i get the time and the strength.

Elder espionage? Currently or in the past?

i searched the board but didn't see much about it.. do you think there are any elders currently serving that are only serving, or only strove to be an elder so they could get damaging and damning info in order to bring the org down?.

i am seriously thinking it might be a good idea for me since all i have to do is reach out for it and i would be an ms again, and probably an elder within a year or two.

(scary, huh?).

If somebody was currently involved in this type of activity, they wouldn't be able to post it openly on the internet as the bOrg monitors sites like these.

i became a jdub at the age of 16. i had a child out-of-wedlock who was 1 year old at the time and i was searching for answers - i wanted my son to have a future and the one the witnesses portrayed was better than anything i'd ever heard!

who is who on here??

i know there are mostly ex jw's on here.

i just wondered how many of you are ex jws, left or df'd, how many are still in but have lost heart?.

are there any jws on here who still believe its all the truth, go to meetings and trust the organisation?.

Born and raised. I always thought it was a bunch of horseshit from as far back as I can remember. DF'd in 1992(22 years in) with the break up with first wife. I never did anything wrong to get df'd over, I just told a couple of the elders I was fucking somebody else and to not come back to my house. I did this so my "good" JW wife would have "scriptural" grounds to get remarried.

I am now an athiest.
