  Seeker,

  I agree with you. Many on the other board have made the same points to those who have come onto the board and are all freaked out. Of course those who are still trapped with the JW mind don't seem to get that. All we can do is try to keep pointing it out to others in hopes they will get it or at least think twice before going back to a KH

  Hi Tina,

  I kept posting to her for the very reason you stated, in hopes someone lurking might read it and start thinking. Only two of us have kept up the exchange with her. She hasn't posted since I gave her material on 1914 changes. I doubt she will either but if she does, and posts more false information, I'll just keep refuting it with more facts. Don't want her information left hanging in the air there as if it was correct

  Tina,

  You are absolutely right. On another board we have had many scared people coming on to talk about things. Most just have a little JW residue left and have felt better after they have been presented with facts about the WTS but we have this one woman, she has been out for 17yrs and she is convinced they are God's one true channel.

  She stated at the very beginning she only wanted to talk to those who still believe but on this board no one does. So we started giving her some facts. She absolutely refused to go to any of the sites we recommended. Said she wasn't interested in opinion. Again we told her these have many many facts, not opinions. She said she was writing to a JW who told her the things we were telling her weren't true. And asked where do you get your information and that she didn't want apostate material.

  So I gave her quotes right out of the WT and Awakes. These weren't just one or two I gave her quote after quote. Her response...Well I just have a feeling they are the truth. ARGHHH At this point I feel like banging my head against a brick wall, it would be less painful :)

  Some points for you to consider. The USA has given money to almost everybody, sometimes its helps the situation and sometimes not. I suggest you read up on the marshal plan for a time when an economic package helped. But then that would involve forming an informed opinion.

  Idiots. Only children expect perfect justice in the world, adults realize sometimes you must make compromises for the greater good.

  Your simplistic views are simply sad, if you were 10 it would be understandable.

  really help? Just because someone disagrees with you does not make them an idiot nor a child. You have every right to state what you think should be done but could we all please stop insulting each other's opinions?

  Gas Prices

  we have been informed in dayton that gas prices will go up by midnight by 4 dollars a gallon.

  i hope this is another false alarm, but i am filling up in either case.

  I live in a small NE Kansas town and one of the stations immediately went up to 2.69. All the other stations remained at the same price. When the owner was contacted he said he was taking precautions and getting prepared for what was to come. So someone called the Att. Generals office and she issued a statement that anyone guaging the consumers would be fined up to 10,000 bucks.

  The guy that raised his prices is also a city commisioner and he got caught**LOL** So he issued a statement that he guess he just overreacted and would refund money to anyone who paid the high price. The Att. General says she is still going to fine the guy.

  Here he is someone who the citizen's put their trust in by electing him and he not only exploited yesterdays tragedy he abused the trust of the people who elected him. I called him this morning and told him, ya know I have been a loyal customer for 5 yrs but guess what, from now on, even if I have to pay higher prices at another station you will never see another dime of my money. Not even for a bottle of soda and I will help campaign for anyone who wants to run against you in the next election. All he could do was stutter on the other end of the phone.

  reports are coming in (bbc) of tracer fire and explosions in kabul, afghanistan.. this is of course wher osama bin laden is holed up - have the fbi/cia managed to successfully pin this atrocity on him already?.

  It's true it's on CNN right now but they have said it's doubtful it's the U.S as there hasn't been time. They also reported that Afghanistan is in themiddle of a civil war and it very well could that.

  hi, folks.

  i know nytelecom works nearby (across the river?

  ), but i can tell you all that today has been (and will continue to be for a loooong time) the single most bizarre, surreal event i have witnessed.. i work in an office building at 26 broadway in manhattan, about 10 blocks from the world trade towers.

  Religious Fanatacism

  if there was ever a blatant display of the dangers of religious fanatacism, this is it.

  the hi-jackers of the airliners that crashed today no doubt thought they'd immediately be sitting next to allah this-afternoon.

  The religion of Islam, esepecially itsradical elements, is known for violence and the resolve to kill all those who don't serve Allah. Sure, there are many conservative Muslims who don't behave or feel that way, but the religion encourages that type of thinking.

  This is not entirely true. Unfortunately this statement is exactly the misinformation that most people believe. My brother is Muslim and he is nothing like this nor are any of his friends. They absolutely abhor viloence and condemn it. They also do not shun anyone who leaves their religion nor do they discourage their members from having friends of other faiths. They would never go out and kill someone just because they have left the faith.

  I think everyone needs to wait until it is confirmed who is responsible before jumping to conclusions. Remember the OKC bombing everyone was really sure it was a forgein attack and as we all know, it was not.

  NEW LAW IN CANADA FOR CLERGY VISITS

  elders, and other clergy, can no longer go to the patient lists in hospital and scan for names.

  the list is now confidential...!.

  article in the newspaper of september 7, 2001. unless you stipulate, upon admission, that you desire a visit, the elders will not even know.. this change, i am sure, is based on the practice of jw blood gestapo frequenting the hospitals and scanning the patient lists under the guise of clergy priviledge, looking for jws sneaking into hospital and getting blood based treatment.. the actions of the elders was deemed against the law of patient confidentiality, and so their privelidge was cut.. elders stay out is now the new law.
