  Scarce at the kingdom hall

  i heard that it was scarce at the kingdom hall last thursday night.

  the speaker was asking those in attendance to look around and see who was missing and to call them and encourage them to come back to the meetings.

  Where is the love?

  jw's are taught that their love is what identifies them as true christians.

  what i expected from witness friends and what i expect from my friends now are totally different.

  I must tell you that out of all of the JW's that I personally know: relatives, neighbors, and a cquaintances that only one exhibits any sign of being a genuinely loving person. My family and I have been repeatedly snubbed by the "holier than thou" and I'm sure it has as much to do with their insecurities as it does with the fact that they know there isn't a chance that they could ever convert us. If they were truly loving and smart, they would show their love regardless of what their expectations were. They are only nice and aknowledge me and my family when they want to borrow or sell us something. It's all conditional... Agnes

  I think I just got the total experience

  i tried to go to walmart this morning.. this story's origin began last april, when, just days before my final exams, my gateway laptop went nuts.

  as a third year law student, having taken her exams for the the entire duration on computer, the notion of changing my exam approach to bluebook was out of the question.. i was able to obtain, for the short term, another laptop and survived third year just fine.. however, it took three rounds of repairs to get my computer back in working order for more than three weeks (gateway kept replacing the hard drive, but it was the motherboard that was failing-good news was that they only charged me for one disk drive, and not for the mother board eventually installed.).

  and i am not the kind of person that feels comfortable with the "what ifs" so when about a few days ago, my gateway laptop went to a screen that i only saw before each of the three prior "deaths," i decided that my peace of mind was worth many hundreds of dollars and decided to get a "backup" laptop, considering i have two more rounds of exams and the bar exam through which i need a reliable computer.. i tried to order the sub-500 dell, but it wouldn't arrive in time for december's exams, so i started looking at the other offers out and about.. that meant i actually had to go to a brick and mortar establishment so i would have a computer in hand, rather than in some shipping queue.. i am not much of a consumer.

  There are those of us that want a "good deal" enough to subject ourselves to what you experienced this morning (JW & non-JW), but it certainly isn't for everyone as you can attest. I remember years ago doing the after Thanksgiving sales at a large mall with a group of girlfriends...and that was fun, but it was nothing like the situation you described! There were crowds, but it wasn't a bit scary.

  What you experienced had more to do with a lot of the clientele that Wal-mart can attract and the hype created by the retail industry (IMHO). That being said, I do occasionally shop there, but I purposely avoid the times that I know the store will be crowded.

  Thanks for sharing your experience...my heart was pounding as I read it. Agnes

  is it just me or do mormons look happier than jdubs?

  it seems to me that mormons enjoy their work a lot more than jdubs... and they do it 12 hours a day.

  they have to walk everywhere.

  they have no social life or money.

  management stress

  this is going to sound like a sexist thread but why is it so hard for some women to come in go to their desk, do their job and leave in the evening?

  i have one who cannot stay off the phone, always some drama going on disrupting others and is just an overall troublemaking bitch!

  yesterday she threatened to quit and i just looked at her and didn't say anything; even though i felt like cutting loose on her and telling her what i thought of her.

  For the same reason it is hard for some men to do the same. Sounds like the person who is doing the hiring doesn't read people very well. Agnes
