  A culture of conservationism?

  i'm currently going back to school to study biology and biomimicry.

  i'm hoping to work to develop green technologies - better energy sources, better product packaging, better waste disposal, and so on.

  i'm concerned for the earth, and i sometimes wish that everyone would suddenly start consuming less or more responsibly, but i realize that it simply will not happen overnight.

  the movie is called defending your life, with albert brooks and meryl streep.

  it's a comedy, but it strikes at some important truths.

  Not giving the org a bad name

  i've been out of the org in mind for three months (formally for only two weeks) but i find that i often feel that old familiar impulse to supress myself if i start to say something that could be construed as negative to the organizaton.

  do you still feel that?

  like, i might hesitate to tell my neighbor that i didn't associate with my dad for six years because of the df/da policy.

  Michael Crichton: Travels

  i'll also give a quick overview for those of you who've yet to read it.. travels is a non-fictional account of crichton's own person travels, both geographical and spiritual.

  Wasted 15 bucks today [a narrative account]

  okay, feel free to skip this message if you don't like long stories.

  i'm in a writin' mood, so i thought i'd try my hand at entertaining the readers of the group.. a couple weeks ago i went downtown to check out an exhibit on sustainable technologies.

  i was particularly impressed by a computer keyboard manufactured from carrot and celery fibers, using starch as a binder.

  An allegory: The Twelve Brothers

  when i first was beginning to see the light, i wrote this allegory as a spin on the old "what if you found a house in the middle of a desert" illustration witnesses use all the time.

  i wrote it to explain in non-threatening terms to my witness friends the way i was seeing the universe.
