  i felt it would be helpful to understand just how the wt is misapplying ps 119:165. if you are a person new to this board or only recently having questions please read this carefully and thoughtfully.

  the verse in discussion says.

  " great peace have they that love thy law, and there is no stumbling for them.

  Thanks. To scrutinize the WT beliefs through their publications only, I suppose, anything else would open a person up to the charge of apostacy. Bit of a catch 22 really.

  This guy, Vivian, was not happy with his male-self. After a struggle with his religious convictions and his sexuality, he eventually made the decision to have a sex change.

  The operation was a complete success and he called herself Judy. But she was caught out in the KH when she said a prayer without covering her head. She was disfellowshipped for apostacy (because sex-changes are not forbidden specifically in the Bible).

  She now lives with Bob, an ex-elder from New York, in an apartment in San Francisco.

  WT Library Software

  yesterday, i installed the 2001 watchtower library software on my pc.

  suddenly i was not able to view any and all "apostate" sites i had just been to seconds earlier before installing the software, including this forum.

  having a gut feeling, i uninstalled the wt library software, and presto!

  I've got a copy of Watchtower Library 2001

  It downloads spyware onto your PC. It's called MyWitnessSearch. Search for anything on the web and it directs you to the JW-Org site.

  I had to download Spybot to get rid of it. When deleted Spybot gives you the following message : "MyWitnessSearch has been dis-associated from your PC".

  This has been quoted to myself as a scripture that states you must not challange the Org. Thanks for enlightening me. Are there scriptures that say the opposite, so could be used as a counter argument? That you must challange your faith to be certain that it is the right one?

  what does the name jehovah's witnesses mean?

  jehovah is the personal name of god, as found in the bible.

  a witness is a person who relates facts from direct personal knowledge or proclaims views or truths of which he is convinced.

  If this was an advert for a product, say, alcohol, food or a car and it told as many half truths and blatant lies as the JW site does, the Advertising Standards people would jump on them from a great height. It would be taken out of the public domain and they'd have to pay a hefty fine.

  What's the difference?

  They are both sales pitches, to separate you from your money. The only difference is the JWs want your soul as well

  COMING OUT PARANOIA?

  hi - all these posts re "coming out" seem kind of paranoid or,what's the word or phrase, like delusions of grandeur, i mean no offense with this but it just seems like few jws would care who you are - at least now they wouldn't care if you done left already - am i missing something?

  This is a totalitarian and mind controlling cult, being a JW is your life - not just a meeting or two a week. You have to be determined and singleminded to leave. You can't just wake up one day and say "I've had enough." and go. You have friends, family to consider, the whole fabric of your life is turned upside down, this is a very stressful time.

  "Coming out" is the first stage towards this. A proclamation of rejecting the JW lifestyle and starting out again, with all the problems and uncertainties that entails. Telling all and sundry here, at the hall or at home.

  It is not done for their benefit.

  IMHO belittling a statement of a very important decision, something that took real guts to admit, is not very constructive and possibly damaging to those who need need our support - not criticism.

  Coffee gives protection against diabetes?

  my husband is half- finn.

  his father (full-blood finn) drank coffee constantly, and smoked like a chimney and was an alcoholic.

  he came down with type ii diabetes about 30 years back.

  I've drunk coffee by the bucket load over the years, but was diagnosed type II diabetes at age 37 - I'm not overweight, I run as a hobby and with no family history of it. If I hadn't have drunk so much coffee maybe diabetes would have struck alot earlier. Hohum.
