is anyone here convinced their physical health problems migth be due to all the walking they did going door to door for years?.
i have some pretty severe foot problems right now.
i think i have artritis in at least one knee and it has been diagnosed in my hands.
Personally, I have not found hard work (including walking) to be destructive to the human body. In fact, that is precisely what makes the human body stronger. When we stress joints and muscle tissue they rebuild, and build back stronger to take the increased load.
I would however agree with Ranch, when she states that there is a close tie between the emotional state and the physical state.

just got my mail order copy of crisis of conscience... got to chapter 2 in the first 20 mins!!!.
who else has read it, and what are your thoughts ???.
i've enjoyed it so far, and am glad to see how respectful ray franz was in his writing, with no 'outright attacks' on the wtbts.. bull!
Read Ray's book about two years ago. One of the most striking things to me was how the GB decides matters by voting on them. They go with a super majority. That's how "new light" emerges! Then when one of the body is replaced and the new guy sees things slightly differently than the guy he's replacing, the vote can swing in a new direction. Aha!.... New Light!
Tried to talk to my bro about this last weekend. He's a diehard dub and woudn't hear any of it. Says that when the GB meet in session they "all speak in agreement". I ask him then "why have a Body of Elders" as it were, when they could get by with just one man. If there's to be no discussion and no dissent. Of course, he's got no answer but the Party Line.

i was just wondering about the scream mechanism.
if a lady is suddenly taken by surprise and is fearful, she's likely to let out a blood curdling scream.
but that's not the natural reaction for men.
Maybes, Ok,..cool. But aren't there some differences in the screams? When a woman is totally surprised, I've seen her do a "eeeeoooowwww!" Not the "Help, I'm being murdered here" type scream, but more the "hey you scared me!" scream.
Also, interesting about your bf. Never heard a man scream, but I allow that maybe some do.

If it's a learned thing, then at what age? Do mothers tell their daughters about it, or does society just sort of "tell" women that that is the accepted response? When did you first scream?
I'm really desirous to know, this isn't some sort of baiting topic to stir things up. (it has nothing to do with rape, for example)

has anyone here had custom golf clubs made by a certified club maker?
curious about the experience with the fitting and afterwards.
(results).
Hey, Dan-O. Thanks for the comments.
Who does have their swing down really tight? Not me. But I'm actually thinking of the clubs for my wife. She's struggling with her game. Her birthday is coming up this month and about four weeks ago I played with this guy who thinks he can help her. (he let her hit his seven wood and she hits the holy hell out of it never having seen it before)
With the new offset clubs and high tech shafts, swing weights that are matched for your swing speed, proper loft and lie, proper diameter grips, etc, etc, etc, I'm hoping she can play better and thus enjoy herself more. That's the whole thing. If she enjoys the game more.
Her woods are very old, and I actually tried to hit them myself. (they're old steel shaft, persimmons with very worn grips) While I'm no pro, I could tell that they would be tough to score with consistently. Her irons are new. And she got the driver she always wanted last year and hits it 200-210 here in the Northwest.

.
did you ever get into just doing random underlines and notes and all that on your study wt or books just to look like you?d studied it without ever having even looked at it before?
.
God! Why did you guys have to dredge this stuff all up? (lol) Brings back some real memories, I'll tell you. I never did understand why you had to study for the Study. Most of the WT stuff is (was) so simplistic and repetitive, that you needn't study anyway.
What's next, preparing for the Public Talk from printed Outline? Crazy J-dubs....forever studying and never learning.
And the whole judging thing. Who pre-studied, who didn't. Man, I'm glad I'm clear of that stuff!

the 2 jw convension-halls in the netherlands have now a bank/credit-card accespoint to give contribution to the wts with your bank or creditcards.
do you know this happens in other country's?
it is really strange to see that brs&srs are giving donations with their visa & mastercards.
Sf, the Banks will charge the recipient a percentage for handling the transaction. At my store we get nicked 1.8%. But since the volume will be much greater with the WTS, the percentage could be even lower.
But since people spend credit card money more loosely, I'm sure the WTS is banking (pardon the pun) on the idea that donations will be UP! More so than when you have to part with some of Uncle Sam's finest.
