Have you heard they've begun using Viagra in old age nursing homes? They give it to the old men. Keeps them from rolling out of bed at night. (sort of the kick-stand effect)

now if they were only giving them to my children, i would raise cain, because it is an obvious attempt to imply that they have to provide what i am not.
it is also an influence ploy, in that by giving them a gift, it obligates them to use the gift.. but they gave them to all the kids and everyone at the book study.
the sweet part was that i actually showed up.
Notebook publishing....hmmmm. Maybe there's a shortage of "new light" coming out and ya gotta keep those presses churning. Keep the workforce occupied. Nah! That couldn't be it. Too simple an explanation.

do you think it matters?
how long did it take for you to start voting?
was it liberating?.
Good for you, Es!
Now you can look forward to being called to deliberate on juries, etc. Do your civic duty. Decide people's fate. Get paid ten bucks a day. Whoooheee!
Seriously, though. It's great. Being a real citizen is a good and liberating feeling. Now you can get involved in all sorts of groups, organizations (if that sort of thing strikes you) and make a difference in your community, by volunteering, etc.

Of course I vote! How can you not? Unless you want others to decide matters for you that will affect you. And affect you they will, trust me. Besides, I had enough of that sort of thing in the "truth".
I find that the hardest part is actually researching the candidates and issues. It takes some time. Unless you're simply going to go down your ballot and vote in every Republican or Democrat or Independent, or whatever your preference is. Straight ticket as some people do.
I voted every election since I was out. By the way, my voter registration card fits nicely where my blood card used to be!!!

stepdaughter came home from first day of school.
at dinner she presented an idea she'd heard.
goes something like this: during the seventies and eighties the crime rate was still on the rise.
Thank you, Jankyn. That opens my eyes to crime statistic reporting. Can be subjective, very subjective.

Thank you, Jankyn. Well stated opinion. Appreciated the part about 3 or more young males traveling together. Guess that's why law enforcement always has an eye on the car that's full of young males.
But I didn't realize local agencies had such leeway in the classifying of crimes. Can you give an example of how a crime might be described by one agency and differently by another?

isn't it funny how certain smells can have a strong effect in evoking distant memories?.
i was reminded of this when i just opened my desk drawer.
a little earlier today i bought a local newspaper (which is unusual for me) and didn't have time to read it so i stuck it in the drawer.
LT, that's good! I haven't thought about this topic for years and years. But since you brought it up. I remember getting out of bed about 10:00pm when I was about 9 years old. I was smelling the most horrible smell I ever smelled. Came downstairs and my mom and dad were messing with the stove in the kitchen. Mom had dropped a handful of rubberbands onto the burner (electric, I think). The smell of burning rubber never fails to remind me of this. It's etched into my brain.
Car squeals out at a traffic light, and I smell burning rubberbands. Pulley slipping on my tablesaw? Burning rubberbands. It's funny.

Whoa! Hold on there! How and when did income get mixed up in this discussion? I didn't introduce this idea. Poor vs. rich?.... Unwanted babies can also be from a young woman in college who becomes pregnant and it would be terribly inconvenient, just now, at this point in her life, to carry the child to term. Don't want to sound callous about it. Not at all. But just that abortions are not the exclusive domain of low income people.

.
or was the experience just a glitch that can be overcome?.
englishman.
Lots of missed opportunities..the kind that cannot be re-lived. Born into the "truth", so I made and raised three kids in it. Now, I realize that the damage I did to myself, or the damage the "experience" did to me, (however you want to phrase it) has been passed on. Fortunately, two of my three have seen the light, and do not associated with the Borg at all.

So, it's a book? Do you recall the author? Does it seem to be valid?
