Well then, I stand corrected, perhaps his photo op did not cost us anything at all, except for the flight cost. I still don't like Bush.

by ThiChi inthe ace of spades is none other than french prime minister chirac, saddam husseins partner in crime of 30 years, and includes his most infamous quote: our position is no matter what the circumstances, france will vote 'no.
' the washington times new revelation that france helped saddams top goons escape shows just how relevant and useful this deck is.
the deck of weasels also includes many other notables, weasels such as nafta partners vicente fox of mexico and jean chretien of canada, and others in our own senate such as teddy kennedy and robert kkk byrd.

The carrier came into dock as scheduled, no more, no less. You also fail to mention that four Democrat Senators also visited the same Carrier. So what?
As opposed to coming in early and actually "saving" taxpayers money. OK, here you go, four democratic Senators also visited the same carrier, they are jack asses too. But somehow I don't think they would have been able to delay the carrier at sea just so they could visit. It doesn't matter how you look at it, it was an expensive photo op, and it had nothing to do with "lifting the spirits" of the few soldiers who got to get within eye shot of the president.
I just don't see how people can idolize politicians like this.

My bad, it seems the jet wasn't any more costly than the helicopter. However, the whole photo op will cost up to one million dollars when he could have just waited for the carrier to arrive. That's a lot of money for us taxpayers to pay just to help him get reelected.

Hope they come out with Heros' cards! Here is the Ace of Spades:
Are you serious?!? Didn't that staged photo shoot cost you and I about a ton of money since he wanted to land in a military jet instead of a friggin helicopter? Hero my eye, it seems that he is playing the US public like a deck of cards as he gears up for reelection.

JWs will never admit they're wrong or need to adjust anything unless they can call it "new light" and claim it's from God.
Cruzanheart, in all fairness, this is taken from the official JW website:
Our procedures have been refined over time. Over the years, as we have noted areas where our policies could be strengthened, we have followed through. We are continuing to refine them. We do not believe that our system is perfect.

What JWs are passing out in response to Silentlamb

i can't belive the jws have the guts to pass this stuff out.
the people we were with at lunch today all looked at it and was replused at the wt's reply.. what do you think?.

So pedophiles always tell the truth? Say a child claims her father molests her, and he denies it, and there are no other eye witnesses ( why would there be? ), then according to the elders, he's not guilty right? So he gets to keep being an elder or MS or whatever. Accordng to whom is he deemed guilty?
Bittersweet - this is definitely a perplexing situation. But I'm not sure of an alternative. If people were removed based on one person's testimony, then it could easily turn into witchhunts with false accusations. Naturally, any accusation should be passed onto the authorities so they can investigate. But that doesn't always happen.
If it goes to court, and the court finds him guilty, then do the elders make him step down from his position? Even if they found him not guilty? Does any one know the answer?
I don't "know" the answer but my guess would be that if a person was convicted in a court of law, they would probably lose their position in the congregation. But if there are not more than one witness that comes forward in the trial, they likely will still not be DFed. However, that almost becomes moot since the perp will be going to jail (except for the fact that JWs can visit him.)

Get your flamethrowers out...dissenter on board...
But first of all, I have a question on this:
they are expected to report the allegation to the branch office of Jehovah's Witnesses in their country, if local privacy laws permit.
Does anyone know if there are any US privacy laws that would legally STOP an elder from reporting?
Now, my opinion on the matter is, I think it is great that the WT has come out with this. Now every JW can have in writing that it is their right to report any molestation to the police as stated below:
Additionally, the victim may wish to report the matter to the authorities, and it is his or her absolute right to do so.
I'm sure we all agree that their policy on reporting needs to change and that any accusation should be reported to the authorities in any state, or world wide for that matter.
However I have read numerous people criticizing the two witness rule for the congregation to take judicial action. I don't see the advantage of that. Would you prefer the elders to have the authority to just DF anyone based on the account of one person? I realize that most people don't cry wolf in these types of accusations, but that does not mean it cannot happen. I would prefer for JWs to keep the 2 witness rule with the ability to take judicial action if a court of law finds him/her guilty. But even then, it's not quite as important as if a person is found guilty in a court of law, they no doubt will be locked away anyway. After the government releases them for serving what they deem as necessary punishment, I think it is the JWs right to forgive the wrongdoer and welcome him back to the congregation (as long as he is kept out of positions.)
I need to run, so I can't flesh my post out fully, but any responses on this are welcome, but please keep them civilised.

What an Anointed sister Said to me
by Cassandra Cain ini cannot say how i got this info.
but this anointed sister was talking with my friend and me over the phone.
my friend informed me that she was an anointed sister and she was thrilled that she was calling us.

Yeah, we used to get those talks too. But that was because kids really were passing out flyers at district and circuit assemblies and having 200-300 people at a party with plenty of alcohol. We haven't had a talk like that in years, but that's mainly because people don't pass out flyers anymore...they just have the parties (but I have seen a few web pages put up with open invitations.)
I agree there is a definite difference between West Coast JWs and MidWest JWs. Maybe that's why I haven't had the bad experiences that others on this board have.

how long ago was that?
That's up to current day as I still attend the occasional meeting to make other people happy. The local congregation has many "large" gatherings. I'm not sure where you and undercover are from, but maybe it is the difference between the west coast and the midwest or something similar to that.
