I think a person that can entertain thoughts they do not agree with is intelligent.

What makes someone smart? If they think exactly like me then they are really smart...

and I would guess that I'm much more successful than you with my way. But that is only a guess. I just got a message today that someone wanted to translate something I wrote into French so it could be put up on a French website.
Sorry, not interested in trading JW Conversion Scene credits, did enough of that as a JW. Just making a sarcastic observation, do with it as you will.

Apostate Mormons and Masons should be avoided
by Black Sheep inmy jw wife expresses horror at the though of looking at apostate mormon and mason websites for information on them as they are likely to be biased and untruthful and populated by people with a chip on their shoulder who will lead you astray as to the truth about them.. she has been invited to attend an open day at the masonic lodge on sunday by a good friend (a high ranking mason) of ours, and to bring other members of 'her group' with her.. i read her the first few paragraphs from http://www.ephesians5-11.org/ex_masons_for_jesus/mensclub.htm .
suppose that a group of pagans got together and decided that they wanted to form a men?s club and each man independently decided that he wanted to start every meeting with a prayer to his demon god.
they could all agree to this, but they would have a rough time selecting a name which all could embrace.

What a ridiculous article. Masons do not "worship a demon god." They simply realize that there are many different ways to worship God that all claim to be the true God and that this is impossible to prove, so rather than judge others and kill them in the name of religion, they promote religous tolerance. Its probably the best thing about the Masons.

Bush Documents a Forgery
by Yizuman inon september 8th, the cbs show 60 minutes ii ran a story bringing to light which purported to show that when president bush was in the national guard he failed to obey orders.
the memos were supposed to have been written in the early 1970s by a lieutenant colonel jerry b. killian.
(who is, as it happens, died in 1984.

Myauntfanny made a good post on here that seems to have been overlooked by the Bush supporters, so I would like to repost it:
I don't understand why there is so much focus on these forged documents when we already know that he didn't complete his National Guard service, didn't take the physical, and wasn't penalised for it. These three facts are not in dispute, even by him and his henchmen. The alleged documents make him look like even more of a pratt than he did already, but he was AWOL even by normal people standards, so what does it matter? The central issue is did he fulfill his obligations (during wartime), or pay the price for not doing so? And the answer is no, and no.
Czar, you make a huge unfounded leap in going from "they are forged" to " I really think Kerry okayed this..." You are trying to shift the focus from being on "Bush's going AWOL" to "Kerry had documents forged to show that Bush went AWOL."

Home theater speaker question
by Elsewhere in.
i am about to start wiring my house for home theater speakers and i'm wondering what type of jack i should install in the wall behind the tv.
i've noticed all sorts of speaker jacks that are available and i have no idea which ones i should use..

Banana plugs are the best, as already said...but they are also the most convenient.
All this wire length talk is correct, but if you are just running an out of the box home theater system that you bought at Good Guys or Circuit City (and its not their top of the line stuff) then I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Here's what I have...anyone else want to share?

by Farkel init was made by a women who in later years wore crotchless panties and bras which had holes in the nipple areas.
he not only knew the woman in question (she's now deceased), he has met her numerous times.
up until recently this secret of her year's long sexual affair with rutherford was kept by the family.

This is very interesting, I hope research can find more evidence to back this up. It seems very believable to me, but I have to agree with Minimus and Undercover, it seems "unusable" as proof to current JW's.
It's a shame to see attacks on someone being skeptical of serious accusations. Skepticism should be welcomed when trying to decipher the truth about something. It's a shame when it is taken personally.
Minimus is correct...hearsay from a "friend" who was an elder and was confessed to and was also privy to information between Knorr and the subject is LIGHT YEARS away from a quote from a named elder who can be verified as serving at the time. I understand the need to possibly keep his name confidential, but skepticism should be understood as well.
Thank you Farkel for starting this thread and putting the information together.
