i see myself in dreams a lot, sometimes i see myself sleeping, sometimes i see myself as myself looking in the mirror, sometimes i just find myself laying there dead, but i think this is more just a dream than any outer body experience as i am still alive, there are times though where i have gotten up in the morning and remembered doing something surreal in the night and i still don't know if i really did it or if it was in my dream... i tend to think it's just my vivid imagination and my dreams which often play tricks on me.

52ever had an out-of-body experience?
by poppers inonce in a while, usually in the morning shortly after waking up, i find my "body" lifting up from my physical body, but i remain attached at the head.
it's a very pleasant experience but i wish i could totally separate from the physical body so i could go exploring.
this happened this morning again.. .

It WAS uncommon in Rome...as has been pointed out. A centurion, as in our story, would have had several personal slaves...being they traveled together and were in close contact, and depended on one another, it would NOT be uncommon for a close paternal relationship to develop

i'm not disputing these things, or trying to make a case that this guy in this scripture was keeping young boys for purposes of sex, my point was only that this sort of thing goes on now, and must have done then as well.
it's worth bearing in mind that similar things even get portrayed in movies, i remember in spartacus where some roman honcho is showing homosexual desires toward tony curtis who played the role of a gentle (camp) young man, in the movie tony curtis runs away to join spartacus to get away from his roman master who had desires to use him otherwise.
i'm sure i have seen similar things are in other roman period movies as well, maybe it was not common, but i think throughout that period it happened enough for the question in this topic to be valid and worth asking.

i know of many many jws that "live together" only because they are married to each other.
these people almost hate each other, but would never leave their marriages and get an "unscriptural" divorce.....i know of wives that "forgave" their husbands "unknowingly".

sexually the man could not perform (and since I was a good dub this go round... hadn't tested out the equipment).. so we could not even consumate the marriage. but nooooooooooooo the WTS does not recognize anullments... and since the man could never commit adultry, he would never give me scriptural freedom.......
now that is absolutely insane, how can people be considered to be married scripturally if they haven't/have never had sex... what madness.

which in this situation implies a young boy kept for sexual pleasures by his adult owner.
i can't speak for rome or the circumstances surrounding that specific event, but even today in parts of the world it is an accepted, or at lease practiced aspect of some societies, that wealthy men keep young boys/young men for sexual pleasures. this is not uncommon.
