Elders son is GAY!!!
by Wordly Andre inha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
just looked up my old high school in classmates.com, i saw this dude who was a couple years older than me, didn't really know him but i knew his brother (who left the org the same time i did), his dad kicked him out of the house and he lived in his car, they are sons of one of the elders (assholes) who df'd my dad.
the good son was a good little jw that did everything a jw father (elder) would want his son to do, on his bio on classmates.com he says that he is gay, ha ha ha ha.

Recommend a GOOD film - no snakes, planes or spandex superheroes.
by nicolaou init's been out a while and i know it's already been commented on here but i really enjoyed the village.
the creation of fear and the control that it allows must surely strike a chord.. recently i saw christian bale in the machinist.
bloody awesome!

I don't get it
by lola28 ini need some help in understanding something that's been bothering me for a while, please give me some insight on this.
i often see posts here where some take shots at elders and witnesses for working as janitors and window washers, and it's always bothered me.
i mean does it really matter what they do for a living as long as they are making a living honestly?

like many other people, my issue with uneducated (and often emotionally challenged) men being handed power over other men and women who perhaps very often have emotional problems of their own and have joined the jw for that reason, is just wrong.
i know an elder who thinks he is and always has been partly autistic. he has no real grasp of emotion and admits it, but yet sits in judgement on people going through emotional hell on judicial committees, df's them, shuns them etc. he's uneducated apart from by society literature since birth, does a dead end job and always has, it's a routine.
i suppose my view is basically that when people need help, those they turn to for that help, should be appropriately qualified and experienced to help, not just wear a badge that says 'authority figure'.

Have you heard this one-the end is very close, maybe 2 years
by sspo inmy good witness friend was trying to encourage me spiritually and this is what's being speculated among the witnesses.
how long was adam alone before eve was created, well at least 31 years so far.
1975 was the end of 6000 years of man's existence.. from 1975 to 2006, it is 31 years.. when was jesus ministry over?

Do you look your age?
by Virgochik inhow many of you guys are like me?
raised in the truth, (or joined later), but here we are, finding ourselves in our thirties, forties, or fifties....and the end hasn't come.
we were never supposed to get this old!.

i'm 28, but people tend to peg me as a few years younger, usually people who are younger than me. when i was 23 i used to get thought of as being the age i am now, so it's funny, i've looked the same for a long time! i actually now think i look my age, and i think it's being healthy that makes you look better for your age, rather than younger than your age.

Would you honor your relatives request for no blood?
by free2beme inas i get older, i realize that a time could come where i could find my spouse and i in a situation where we could have our parents in a situation of needing blood to live and us having to speak on their behalf.
with that in mind, i know that the medical directive is not enough and they do try to get family members to do the blood to save them.
i know this, as it happened with my mother and my dad had her take blood.
