  Did you give your children 'Bible names'?

  i have to admit that we gave our first two kids 'hebrew' names.

  i don't want to identify my children online but suffice to say that we had at least some sense in that we opted for safe names of the samuel and daniel type - no melchizedeks!.

  however, in our city we had a javan a samson [gen 10:2] and even a zechariah!

  Back from the Memorial......Special Announcement at the end....

  the special announcement read at the end was an invite for any interested ones (tm) to ask if they wanted a bible study.....and that a special meeting will be held next sunday in all the congregations worldwide, and an invite was given for all to attend.

  i loved going and was good to see all the brothers and sisters again, the po who gave the talk made a bee line for me straight after the closing prayer, straight off the platform (i had to stand as there were no seats) and asked to speak to me, and directed me to the back of the hall, i thought here we go......jc convening shortly......but no he said the wt society in london had contacted him as i'd wrote them asking for the magazines, and he would be happy to drop by and had done, but never found me at home.

  so we arranged a date for him to call next week.. the hall was packed, and from my standing point i had plenty of opportunity to have a scan about, despite being horrified that their were brothers there who were betting looking than even me ( in my newly bought outfit!

  Memorial - those who go, how many will talk about attendance figures?

  for those of you who do go to tonights show, how many of you expect to hear people talking about "beating last years record"?.

  when i went, it seemed that if we got 300 over in attendance, then it was a success.

  i think most congregations of 125+ seem to aim for the 300 number.. see how much of the talk centers around jehovah instead of jesus.

  at the meeting they said the boy wasnt paying heed to his mother. she said that if he gets dirty that hell get in trouble but hes not so he figures hes ok but his mom said not to Go near the puddle.

  Does anyone remember those hideous murals?

  from around 1964, until our congregation had a new kingdom hall built in the mid-70's or so, we had this mural behind the speaker's platform on the stage.

  it was supposed to be paradise.

  it had a nice range of mountains, a beautiful lake, and some flora and fauna in the foreground.

  theres some cool kids there but a few

  years ago some of the other kids use to make fun of me snice i had scoiosis i decieded

  who needs them.so i stoped talking to them. told the elders and stuff about the teasing they didnt do anything.
