What first gave you doubts ?
by rick1199 inwe all know the big problems with the wts, but what was the first thing that made you realise there were problems with the organisation ?
with me it was realitivly small stuff like an 8 year old getting baptised and a comment my best mates made about another of our friends asking if we should be hanging round with her as she might be bad assciation (she had just been reproved, but they had been mates 20 years).. .
how ever the first time i ever thought something was really wrong was when i was about 11 and my grand farther died, and mu mum wouldn't go to the funeral, i remeber thinking that surely it was better to say good bye properly than worry about if the service was in a church.. .

My best freind was not a JW. She is the best person. She is kind, condsiderate, a wonderful friend always there when you need her. She was there when I was going through hard times. A year previous I had been told that If I don't move toward baptism there was no need to continue my study, so I stopped. I felt I was being punished cause things did get really bad. After meeting her and realising good people do exist I began to study again. Of course she was deemed bad association. At first I was like "yeah, we dont have anything in commom any more." That didn't last long because she had proven to be a real friend and there is no way I could turn my back on that. I knew that if I became a witness she could not be my friend.

Do You Realize How Much Being a Witness Has Hindered You?
by minimus inthe truth is------- we have lost out on soooooo much, simply because we were witnesses.
it might b like almost starting all over again, for some of us.

My only regret is my daughter who lives with her dad. I never called on her birthdays, now I feel she doesn't know how much I really love her. Life is so hectic and busy we need days set aside to recognize the people we care about. 14 yrs gone. Maybe oneday she will forgive me.

WITNESS ALL OF THE NEW TECHNOLOGIES THAT WOULD COME ABOUT. ITS HARD TO THINK THAT AT THE PRIME OF LIFE ,,,,,, ITS ALL OVER. I GUESS THIS IS WHAT ATTRACTED SOME OF US TO THE BORG.

I beleive there is a higher power out there. I don't beleive his name is Jehovah though. So the answer is myth....

I really did not know what to title this post so I just put how I felt. Where do I begin? Well due to my past experiences with religion. I feel a little bitter. So as of now I consider myself to be an agnostic. Well, me and a girlfriend were having a conversation about religion. I was pointing out to her the story of Elisha and the bethelite boys. Well to make a long story short she called her sister, who is a christian she thought she may be able to give me some insight. Well needless to say we never agreed and the conversation ended in her telling me that God would make me see and humble me down to the point of me never doubting him again to where bad things would happen to me and my family, and also if I died he'll torture me in hell, too. This conversation really made me feel awful because I am not trying to be an enemy of God. Im only questioning the reliability of the writers and the people who interpret it, and I am trying to come to a understanding of the higher power. Well , yesterday my brother was shot by his girlfriend fatally in the chest, and as soon as this news was given to me, my mind flashed back to what the christian lady had said, a couple of days, before this had happened. I do feel it is coincidental but at the same time I can't help but feel the doom I thought I was free from. Thanks for giving me a way to vent.
