My American friends,
When a British person is introduced on one of your TV shows, particularly comedy shows I invariably cringe.
Truth is, the person is so far removed from a standard British person, that it is laughable.
My question is: When you see an American portrayed on British or other foreign TV. Is the same true for you? Do we present ridiculous examples too?

Did you lie before getting married in the KH?
by Samuel Thorsen inas you know every young couple who is planning to get married in the kh are asked a question about "clean conduct" a week or two before the wedding.
if you admit to have been fooling around to much you can forget about the kh and go and get married elsewhere.. i'm not married myself, but i was engaged to be married once and my soon-to-be father in law (an elder) recommended a certain elder to do the marriage stuff in the kh because he was a kind of easy on the mantadory questions.. fortunatly in never got that far because me and my girl split up about 2 months before the planned wedding, but i have been to a lot of kh weddings and i know for sure that some of the couples had to lie to cover up their conduct to get married in the hall.. but how common is this?.
did you lie before getting maried in the kh, or do you know someone who did?.

I am happy for Charlie; it?s about time he married her.
But that?s as far as it goes with me. If I had my way the royals would be dumped out on the streets tomorrow. They are nothing but leaches!!!
I can trace my root back to Oliver Cromwell you know. -

WHY are you here ? (on the board)
by frenchbabyface in.
.
ok ... to me it's not totally related to jw life actually, i'm here because i'm used now to chat with people (you know like you go into a cafe and share wathever you want with whoever as this board is very rich and full for immediat interaction), support them, get some support ... i just like that ... also of course it's very interesting at the same time to follow some news and get information that i might spit back to my familly in time to wake them up .... what about you ?

I am a private person in my day-to-day life. I find it hard to express myself emotionally. Coming out of an organization like Jehovah?s Witnesses requires a lot of discussion and analysis. I find this hard.
To me, this board gives me the ability to go through the process in my own time and at my own pace.
Like most people I lurked for ages before posting. This period was the most profound for me. I remember many times being at work and reading posts that would make me so chocked up with emotion I could hardly function. Working in a retail environment this was not so good. -

Sydnicated Programming; Who Knew These Shows Were So Hott?
by prophecor ini've been a fan of seinfeld for a few years now, problem is when the show was in its hey day, i never watched it.
not until it's release on syndnicated channels did i become a watcher of it, and only after that did i realize just how great that show was.. watching the show becker with ted danson appears to been a hott show as well, at least in it's begining stages.
much like anything else in life, many good projects have a great start, time however, begins to take it's toll and things just aren't as much fun anymore.. what are some of your favorite syndnicated programs rehashed, sitcoms and otherwise?.
