We met up with Mr and Mrs CB, They are the greatest people to meet. We have so much in common. From the minute we met until the moment we left ( 4 bottles later) we talked and talked and talked. They welcomed us with open arms and we felt like we were all old friends. We are going to meet again soon.

Loss of Family

i am just wondering if any of you have lost family members that you were really close to by leaving "the organization"?

how did you deal with it?.

right now i am neither disfellowshipped nor disassociated but considered inactive.

Yes I have lost ALL family. My two daughters are dubs and want nothing to do with me anymore. My oldest is getting married this fall, and I am NOT to be there. My only brother who lives in Europe has cut me off as well. And so has my mother, she never wants to see me again ever. That is all the family I have, and so I have no family anymore in that respect.

How do I cope with it>? It's not easy believe me. Especially when you have pictures in your hand. But I need to remind myself that, it's THEIR decision. I have not cut them off ever. It hurts not to socialize with family, but I will always be related to them. So rather than feeling bad for myself, I really feel bad for them, that an organization puts these restrictions on them. All I can hope for, is that in time, they will also see the new light, and make the necessary changes. Meanwhile I have to go on with life....................

'God Bless You' When You Sneeze?

we're all familiar with the wt's "history" of the origin of the phrase "god bless you" ("geshundeit" in german) in response to someone's sneezing.

the wts says it originated with the pagan belief that the soul leaves the body when you sneeze and the "bless you" is part of a superstition to protect you from demon invasion.

given that background, jw's don't say anything when someone sneezes.

last night i had 375ml of vodka.

this morning i was so sick.. .

i was just wondering what is the most anyone here has had to drink, and what is a good hangover remedy.

Hangover remedy;

1. In the morning drink one Bloody Mary

2. While you drink at any time, drink lots of water. Alcohol dries you out, and the reason you are having a hang over is because you are dehydrated.

3. Drink a glass of milk before you start drinking.
