due to funkyderek i have come to the decision to leave this board.
when i posted on the current gay thread in a way that i thought would stimulate thinking and lighten up the seriosness of the thread and have a laugh, he and others put me down publically labelling me.
so i find it difficult now to continue posting knowing that someone has influenced others into thinking that i'm not worthy of being here because my phrasing and spelling is bad and that i'm apparently a "hyporite".
wozadummy,
I've read with interest both threads with no comment. I would like to say a couple of things now.
First, I am very sorry for the horrible things you went thru as a child. I can understand how as a child...you linked indelibly what happened to you with homosexuals. Now you say you understand that 'just because they were gay' doesn't mean all gay people are 'like that'. I think it's possible you've never had the proper help to deal with the very real horrors of the abuse you received back then.
Until you mentioned your sexual abuse, I thought your prejudice was the 'normal' religious based type, it still may be. I don't know.
You said:
" Advertising your sexual inclinations on a primarily Jehovahs Witness discussion forum to me is tasteless and I don't give a shit if it's popular to condascend, fluff up, or pander to the whims of some people thru commenting on how terrible it is to bash verbally "gays".
I think discussions about homosexuality IS an appropriate subject "...on a primarily Jehovahs Witness discussion forum...". Why? JW's promised many gays a "cure", if they devoted their lives to the WT. Many gays were DF when they discovered later that that was not true either. Many gays committed suicide in the aftermath of being shunned. Many gay ex-jw's are still experiencing family issues -- over what I think is their nature. Many gay JW's are still hiding.
It's another burden they may have to deal with, on top of the other issues, all of us Ex-JW's have to live with. So, tell me again how discussing, "...sexual inclinations on a primarily Jehovahs Witness discussion forum to me is tasteless..." ??
I, too, hope you stay and unlearn some of the misconceptions and hatred you have. If you've never had good counseling to help you deal with your past abuse... I hope you will consider that as a sincere suggestion.
Sincerely, Rabbit
today my washer broke.
i was taking a shower, when i heard the most gawdawful noise, very loud grinding buzzer sound from my washer.
i hurried as fast as i can because its a saturday morning and i don't want to wake up the whole neighborhood but it took me a couple minutes.
I remembered someone in this forum wrote things on them when ever they come across the mags. So I went out to the car, got a marker, and wrote: WT protects pedofiles www.silentlambs.org on both of them.Don't know why, but my mood brightened considerably after that.
What do you all do when you come across the mags?
Sherry
Our washer broke, too and we ended up at the Laundry mat. I came across the tract about "False Religion" in Spanish. It's the first of these tracts I've seen, as they never delivered mine at the house. *snif-snif-pout*I feel so-o left out and depreciated.
I also wrote in the Silent Lambs & Free Minds websites above the WT.org address on the back. I wrote a short note on the inside explaining that, "...JW's believe God will soon kill them, their children and everyone else on earth -- unless they convert and become Jehovah's Witnesses." I added, "I know, because I was one for 35 years."
I hope that gave them something to discuss with their friends.

the official watchtower 2006 service year report is not out yet, but i have it on good sources that this year's increase on publishers number is 1.9%.
the average number of publishers will be around 6,500,000. .
here's the % increase for this decade:.
#1. I would not believe anything the Watchtower gods have to say, even if they 'swore' on that proverbial 'stack of bibles'.
#2. They have never been forthcoming and open about any numbers. From how much money they rake in, to what they do with it, what stocks & investments they make, how much their real estate empire in worth...nothing! They have never allowed any independent auditing nor have they voluntarily opened the books for examination by the R&F.
#3. Take one easily proved stat: baptisms... why not actually publish the numbers of those dunked per CA/DA -- by the name, location and date ? Then, if you watched those baptisms and took notes, anyone could compare them -- to the WT report. If there was a difference...you could call the WT on their deception. (Or simply blame yourself for miscounting and begging for forgiveness for your lack of faith and gullibility)
#4. But, the WTB&TS has never been open and honest and it never will be.
#5. Lastly...see #1.

i went to see someone in my old hall last night, who's recently been diagnosed with cancer.
she's only in her late 40s, healthy, so this was a shock when i found out about it the other night.
apparently it's gone in to her liver and her doctor has not given her any hope of surviving it, although they're going for a second opinion, as the doctors in our area are notoriously incompetent.. even though i stopped going to the meeting 2 years ago, i thought going to see her was the human thing to do, since she studied with me when i was 15 years old and i thought it would maybe be comforting for her to talk to someone else who had had cancer.

I remember at my mothers services I overheard the PO say to another "Well now ______ can finally start serving Jehovah like he should."
As tho' you Mom held him back ? *sheesh*
In my Mom's hospital room, right after she died [no blood] 99% of the JW's comments to each other was about, "how proud Jehovah was, how proud they were, how proud 'she' must be... knowing she died faithful..." and "We'll see her in paradise...blah-blah-blah..."
Myself, my Dad, the non-dubs, the doctors and nurses who tried to save her... shook our heads over this very useless, preventable and early death.
Maybe the JW's AND other religious people can somehow blunt the very real pain of a loved ones death by deflection...she or he is not really dead. Not really, really gone... They're in heaven, they're sleeping, they're a Yak or an Anteater or another person.
I understand the need to think, 'there must be something else', but, along with that belief...there's the 'carrot & stick' rules. That's where I have to draw the line now ...for me. I'll die, but, won't die chasing carrots held by men...pretending they represent a god's needs or desires.
JW's are willing to die, because their Governing Body has said so, over blood & other issues.
Catholics are willing to die, because their Pope has said so, over the centuries for many things. (Crusades, birth control...)
Muslims are willing to die, because their Imams have said so, over many things. (Infidels, etc.)
Citizens do die, because they fearfully follow, rather than stand up against their govts. (War, etc.)
Notice a pattern? It's all human!
JW's have some stupid ideas for sure, but, maybe they're not too different either.

found here: http://www.chefmarc.com/index.
there are videos; and also go down to "other features" for written instructions.. i have followed his instructions the past two years for all the many turkeys baked, and they always come out crispy on the outside and superbly moist on the inside.. i also recommend doing a salt brine soak the night before baking: http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/10-9-2001-5239.asp.
you'll love.
I'm gonna try this one. I'm also making some pumpkin soup from that lil' cutie -- Rachel Ray.
Hey...you look like one of th' fellers what sunk my battleship, er, canoe... That you?
that piece of human filth, oj simpson, had the rug pulled out from under him as both his book deal and the interview with him has been cancelled, due to public outrage:.

poor oj......looks like he won't be able to cash in on this one.
And...the interview has already been filmed, 400,000 books have already been printed...
This turd has sunk for the time being, but, it will float back to the top when the public's rage cools off.
It's not over yet.
my partners brother is being released from state prison on 12/7 and jake has to go to huntsville to pick him up.
i am cooking a big thanksgiving dinner and his mom wants me to duplicate it when the a**hole gets home and cook a big dinner for x-mas too.
i get 1 day off a week and i am starting to resent being the fricking maid.
Hambeak,
The turkey TV dinner should be the cheapest way out, but, if you want more suggestions:
Wrap up the turkey 'leavins', ya' know... back bone, gizzards and let him de-bone (for himself) what you don't want. AND an empty bottle of beer (a not-so-subtle-message)
Or,
Direct him to the nearest Salvation Army or other homeless mission for a meal.

Thank you Mary ! Isn't public outrage & pressure a beautiful thing ?
O.J.'s probably scratching his chin (hopefully with a knife) sayin', "W-what's everybody all upset about?"
