on may 5, 2005 the thought occured to me: it's 05/05/05.
now, next year do you think jws -- and/or all fundamentalist groups, etc -- will be anticipating or freak out on june 6, 2006?
it'll be 06/06/06 or, more diabolically extrapolated (as they do so well...), 666!!!

I remember hearing JW family members saying (after the initial gasp and crying when my Mom died) "At least she died faithful -- THAT'S the important thing...".
No...the important thing was ...she was dead.

Shunned Father, Gary & Delilah,
I am sorry for your own personal tragedies and losses. Gary...I don't know what to say. As a young father my faithful JW wife and I refused blood for our newborn child -- we got lucky -- she lived. Of course she became a living 'miracle' example to us and many other JW's, as what happens when the faithful ...remain faithful. I cannot now believe...or understand HOW I could have put my childs life in jeopardy. At least now I SEE my mistake, my now X wife is still very 'faithful' (blinded).
Then, my Mom, a very, very good person, as well as a faithful (blinded) JW...died. She, too had cancer. I and my family gathered to watch my mother, who gave me life...smother to death from lack of red blood cells and because, the Watchtower thought it was best that way.
Her heart was just beating as fast as possible...trying, trying, until there just wasn't enough oxygen. Then it stopped and my Mom was no more.
And then the Watchtower used my mothers body to offer a "Free Home Bible Study", "...ask any of Jehovah's Witnesses...," they said before she was to be put into the ground.
They would not have wanted anybody to talk to me that day.

*I hope everyone who has lost someone posts their stories on this thread. Newbies and long-out folks NEED to see the results of being faithful (blinded) by the light from the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society. They are murderers...
texas lawmakers ok cheerleading ban .

austin, texas - after an alternately comic and fiery debate ?
I think it's DUMB, too. There are MANY other important things for the legislature to deal with, as usual the knee-jerk fundamentalist christians politians feel like they MUST go along just to...look good for their fundy voters.
I really haven't been paying too much attention since I first heard about it, I figured it would simply die of stupidity. Now, I'm going to E-mail my Senators to voice my concern. As has been mentioned, there are already anti-lewdness laws on the books, as well as PARENTS that do a pretty good job of watching the morality of their student children. We don't need MORE laws.
LMAO, about condoms...remember the Saturday Night Live skit about 'Safe Sex"? The characters wore full body condoms while making love.... Maybe 'future' cheerleaders uniforms will be floor length dresses with burkas...

go to this website, take a little time to read what is on it, and it will tell that eveything that the witnesse have been doing since the very day they started has had nothing to do with the god of israel.
so dont feel anyway bad when any of you leave this lieing institute, they are responsible for more spiritual and literal deaths on this earth than any of the orginisations they slag off.
Damien, Welcome to JWD !
Even tho' you've had a rough start so far here, it's not too late to start over. Most of the people here really DO understand your frustration and concern about getting JW's to see how misled they are. We all have friends and relatives that are still "in." Learning the best way to help these people get 'out' is the hardest thing.
So, I say...learn from the experiences of many, many others here and at other xjw boards who have tried and failed...and tried and succeeded in opening JW's eyes. When I first came here over a year ago, I had a family crisis going on related to JW's. I truly thought MY particular situation...was unique ! It wasn't...which was sad from the standpoint that so many others were suffering, yet encouraging, because, THEIR experiences helped me realize I wasn't alone in all this. Reading and ASKING QUESTIONS OF OTHERS...about how and why they handled their situations as they did, helped me formulate a plan...which has helped me.
One reason you've had a rough start here is, in my opinion, your dogmatic style. You aren't ASKING questions, you seem more interested in TELLING folks the way things are according your viewpoint...which seems to be infallible in your mind. Sorry to tell ya'...that justs gets on peoples last nerves. Even if you are 100% correct...the 'style' in which you present your facts...can TOTALLY turn off a persons willingness to listen.
Notice I said willingness...you must be careful to be respectful. From my experience and reading that of many others, nothing will shut down a Witness's willingness to listen quicker than a frontal attack...they will just build walls quicker than you can talk.
Remember the old adage, "You can lead a horse to water, but, you cannot make it drink ??" or You can catch more flys with honey, rather than vinegar ?" They are both true.
I hope you accept my words in the spirit they are offered in: As a friend.

since many people are not able to attend the 2005 dallas crawfest, i have setup a special chat room that will allow everyone to "participate at a distance".
to use the crawfest chat room, go to: http://www.davidgladden.com/crawfest/chat.
communications regarding the crawfest can be sent to: [email protected].
We've had a family emergency that may keep us away from this Fest (time will tell) so, thanks Elsewhere for fixing up this chat feature...it may come in handy.

Update !
Tal actually posted on another board today, she could not get logged in here from a library near her. She said she is feeling a little better, but, won't be home for a week or so. And her computer is still down, but, she's optimistic it will be back up by the end of the month.
I wasn't able to talk to her today, I will try again tomorrow (Friday).
She also said she really misses everyone here an can't wait to get back!
GET WELL TAL !
