I think Bryan became a Born Again preacher, or a missionary or something, soon after 'Forever Changes' was released.

Yes, it was Arthur of course. Bryan's "conversion" explains the personnel change in the band after Forever Changes. The first two albums (with Bryan) were the best in my opinion, the earlier concerts were better as well if I remember correctly.

Greg Brown

For some reason Greg Brown always reminds me of City Folk, who are no longer together. Their "I am a patriot" is worth a listen just for the lyrics, even if one dosen't care for folk music.

Jimmy Cliff anyone?

It's odd to watch those scenes of Jamaica, it really has changed very little since then. Jimmy Cliff is as timeless as his country, his singing/songwriting is as good as ever.

Dave Masons additon to "Traffic" was magical. "Cryin' To Be Heard" was one of their all time best songs.

No one has mentioned Paul Brady, a great Irish singer/songwriter. His "the island" is one of the all time best.

I'll toss out an obvious one, Mick Taylor. Started with John Mayall, then joined the
Rolling Stones. His guitar licks from those years are as plaglarized as the quotes of christ.

Hill, you just earned points. Not that it matters of course.

I've been on a Fred Neil crusade ever since...I first heard him? My little brother who recently visited, engaged with my older brother in the Ipod wars. Hours later after great music I aced them, I played "Dolphins". They both hurrumphed, (I wasn't in the competition, but Fred can't be repressed!)

That Ipod war was fun, but Fred Neil lives on, up there on Mount Olympus. We mortals pale in his shadow.

Richard Tompson is great of course...but "Beeswing" never fails to rip my heart from my chest and make me wonder....

so jehovah's witnesses came to our door, this is about the fifth time, i always miss them, but they talk to my wife, this time i was home due to the holiday season, the man was an elder, he came with a newbie, thought he would show her "how's its done"), the young women sat there with mouth wide open, as she watched me beat up her elder with his own bible.

well after discussing the scriptures for about 2 hours, (subjects included: salvation, ransom, permission of evil, god's organization), she looked at me and said "amazing, i've never heard it explained quite that way before.".

the elder asked me what religious affiliations i had, i told him, "i am with the associated bible students.

That was pretty darn rude of him. He comes to your door takes 2 hours of your time and then calls you names. Amazing.

since i joined jwd in march, i have been putting things off that i am supposed to do because i am addicted to jwd!.

1. clean the toilets!.

2. i need to do the dishes!.

Amicus, friend, look at your posting numbers and how long you've been a member. You must have fallen off the wagon. What happened, babe?

Ahem, yes...the first time through I had already given up on the F(oolish) D(issapointing) S(anctimonies). I hit JWD while randomly surfing topics that including Jehovah's Witnesses and religion. Silly me thought I was one of the few that had realized those liars were succesfully running an old bluff. JWD blew me away.

I hung out at H20 also as JWD led me to other JDub related sites. Although I posted there I really felt no need to argue. JWD on the other hand taught me that I wasn't the only xjdub whack-o out there. JWD then had some X's that I still miss to this day. I left a while after the H20 migration. I really didn't mind and in fact really liked some of the H20 folks, but it was time for me to digest things rather than spout my new found spin on life.

I returned by chance actually, I was once again randomly surfing and was on one of my old pc's. JWD was there as a fav, so I went for grins. I really liked what I read though. A few weeks later, I returned...isn't that what addiction is all about?

And...here...I...am...again (drool). (Umm, can one of you get my chin please?)

I've always thought of the S. Lake Tahoe airport a being a private plane hangout. I haven't seen it in a while though, it might be large enough to handle commuter twin props from Vegas. If so, Vegas might have better schedules as Reno is close enough that air travel isn't a need.

Those hiking pics you posted are right there too, definately within biking distance of the Casinos if one chooses not to drive. It's parking area, trail, pristine mountain lake, trail, pristine mountain lake and then summit with a spectacular view of Tahoe.

Same here. I'm close too, if they do it next year I'm there. Flipper made a good call with Tahoe as the Apostafest location. It's good enough that a family could travel cross country for an annual vacation and be glad they did. Tahoe could even work for a Super Apostafest. Reno would be the final airline destination, but Reno is fairly close.
