Whats wrong with windows?
by Strawberryfieldsforever ini was wondering why all the newly built kingdom halls don't have windows anymore!
i remember going to the hall in the 70's and we had lots of windows.
then they started building them without.

Welcome pdx!
I always used to like looking out the windows and see what the weather was doing. Wishing I was out there and not in here. I missed them when we built the new hall. I suppose it would be a distraction and they don't want that to happen!

Were You Afraid of Dying at Armageddon?
by minimus inone thing jehovah's witnesses do is they try to make their adherents feel afraid.
fear is a major reason to go to meetings, out in service, personal study, etc.
jws are always talking about the great tribulation and armageddon.

ALWAYS!
I remember my mom telling me that you couldn't hide from the angels. I used to wonder where I would hide. Under something or go to a far away country where only a few people lived. I was really hung up on that. After I left and my mind cleared, I realized how I wasted so much time worrying about that. Now I can live life without that fear hanging over my head.

What do they say about you now that you're out?
by ColdRedRain inyesterday, i was on the phone with a friend i met while i was down in florida.
we had a nice long chat about how she doesn't feel as though she wants to be a jw anymore, and i gave her good guidence, and one of the peices of good guidence i gave her was "do not worry about your reputation, your reputation is held in low esteem by people who are in themselves in low esteem.
" she then told me about how my reputation was slammed down in florida.

I have a good friend that happened to be called on by the JW's in our area. She said " Oh if I have any questions, I'll just ask ********". The sister then told her that I was no longer a witness and that I was no longer capable of answering her questions. So I know that they talk all about it and even at the doors in service. Yep! Bad association!

On the night before my wedding, my mom came into my room with the TALK. You know. The one where they think they need to tell you all about it? She said she knew I probably knew all about the wedding night, but did I have any questions? I said no. She then told me to remember one thing tho...that you aren't to touch it. My eyes got real big and I said "you don't touch it"? She told me there was bible information on it. Well needless to say I was totally floored,....because I had already touched it! She then tenderly kissed me on the forehead and left the room. I sat in silence. I was thinking.....but what if it touches me???????
Does anyone have any info on the whacky ideas the JW's come up with on sex??? And the bible said that? I always wondered about it!
