i understand from 1 of mum's friends that in a certain road near the kh that people have put notices saying they don't want jws knocking on their door etc.. also 1 persons has put on (their door?
) asking them`y r u persecuting me by knocking on my door' sort of things etc with newspaper cuttings on her door.. did something similiar happen in your area?

I was a good kid because I was raised by Bible Principles
by Nosferatu insometimes when i go visit my mother, she mentions that i was a good kid because i was raised by bible principles.
i was crying for absolutely no reason at all.
around 11:30, i felt completely ill. i went up to my teacher and told him i was going to see the nurse.

I can totally relate Nosferatu. Being raised with fear is not a pleasant. I was always a model child, and everyone could only say good things about my behaviour, but I was unhappy most of the times.
The thing is, part of growing up is making mistakes. Sure, parents can make a kid wonderfully behaved by micromanaging and controlling everything the kid does. But that kid is not only going to be unhappy, but is also going to lose out on some major life lessons, which they're going to have to make up for sooner or later.

What you said is so true. I now realize how much I have to learn now because of the way I was raised. Sometimes it just makes me so mad the amount of damage this does, and to think I know of some parents who are even more controlling.

WHY did you get baptised?
by fairy ini was just thinking back to when i got baptised.
and i dont really remember the real reason why.. thinking about it seems to bring up the idea that i only got baptised because of the way everyone treats you when they find out you are getting dunked - and not specifically to serve jehovah.. baptism day comes and you sit there and listen to the talk.
then you go out and get your swimming duds on and line up at the "whatever it is they decide to dunk you in".

I was pressured into getting baptized at the age of 14. Big mistake. It also seemed like the "thing" to do with some of my other friends doing it as well.

i seem to have noticed lately an increasing number of persons that have declared that they are fading and soon will be out.along with these ones there are also seemingly a large number of new ones signing up with this board.. do you thing that this will show up as a "blip" on the wt radar screen when a large number of people opt out at the same time???.

I think that the WTS is already noticing this. Alot of people here are talking about how much meeting attendance is down, and if we consider the articles in the WT about apostates. I also get this vibe from the meetings, since I haven't heard this much talk about apostates in awhile.

All the advice people here will give to you is great. Whether or not you want to be disfellowshipped, I would avoid that meeting with the elders at all cost. Is your brother a JW? If not, would it be possible to ask him for help in case things get ugly with you grandmother? I was in a similar situation as you as a teenager, wasn't able to do anything, but I let things and other people control my life instead of me being in control of my own life. You've got a good head on those shoulders, and I hope things work out for the best.

For me, it was little things, and i didn't add all those things together until I found out about the WTS association with the UN in september. That's when i started researching about the WTS, and adding things together.

I Thought I Was a Goner (Again)!
by Stephanus inyesterday afternoon i took the boys for a two-mile or so walk along the beach to stay at my mother's house for the night as sort of a last hoorah for the holidays (school starts back wednesday).
after dinner we went for a further walk of several miles further up the beach and back as a recreational outing in the cool of the evening.
this morning after breakfast i started developing an asthma attack that wasn't responding at all to ventolin and serevent, the two drugs i had with me.

Whoa that's scary. I can relate since I have asthma too. Earlier this year, i caught what I thought would be an innocent cold, and then started having the attacks and the meds stopped working. It wasn't as bad as yours, but I still ended up in the emergency room. Glad your ok.
