Turn away from these wicked ways!
by Proud Witness inwell as you would have guessed from my name, i am a proud witness and i feel obliged to preach to you about the promises that our wonderful creator, jehovah god, has promised each and every one of us, of any race or background.
i know that you already know what he has told us through his word, but i am curious to wonder why you have chosen to jump off the narrow road which leads to everlasting life.
is it because you have had a bad experience in god's organization?

So-called "experiences" about courting/marrying non-believers
by Gopher ini don?t remember exactly where in jw-land i heard these experiences, but i believe they were passed around through word of mouth rather than through assemblies or publications.
urban legends?
you decide.. experience #1. faithful jw girl is dating a fellow who is studying (or was recently baptized) in order to win her love rather than because he believes jw doctrine.

I heard of experience #1 before with a slight variation. The elders counselled her to test him to see if he really believed it was the "truth".

Bullied JW Child
by desib77 ini know this has been shown once before but when i read it again today and saw the boy crying in the courtroom it just made me sick with anger.
i'm so angry that the jw's let their children stick out so much that they get teased and picked on.
i'm angry that this boy was punished when defending himself.

Whether it was their choice is besides the point. My point was that the society severely discourages any form of afterschool activities. The people going up on stage for demonstrations are held up as examples for the rest of the jws. So every parent who sees come to the conclusion that if a kid up there did well by refusing to participate in sports, they want their kids to be held as "good examples" in their congregations, thus they don't allow their kids to participate.
**just would like to add that I agree with some posters here. I don't think you're a real JW, or maybe you have doubts of your own but don't want to acknowledge them. You clearly know this is an apostate website, and you keep on posting here eventhough you said you were going to leave. I remember when I was younger, and at one point had doubts, when someone tried to present facts to me about the society, I still defended the organization....so you never know. Stick around, there's alot you can learn here.

Funny isn't? The society says one must use one's Bible educated conscience, but of course, but really what they mean by that is your conscience, dictated by the teachings of the society should make you come to the appropriate conclusion that competitive sports are a no-no.
If you don't believe me on that matter, think about assembly parts, or demonstrations, whenever they have a parts designed for young people and they bring out "shinning" examples from the congregations, they always show roughly the same thing. They usually have the young witness who got asked out by a classmate of the opposite sex, and sometimes had to endure humiliation from they're classmates because they won't date. Then you have the really smart witness kid who did really well in school, and got told by their guidance counselors to get scholarships to pursue an education, but they refused and decided to pioneer and they mention how it is the most rewarding thing they have ever done. Finally, they have the talented athlete who got asked by the coach to play for the team, but "came to the appropriate conclusion" that playing in an afterschool sports team would hurt their spirituality.
Let's face it, actions speak louder then words. The society may write that certain things are a conscience matter, but if you look at all the experiences presented at assemblies, do you ever see someone up there that said they played sports and still managed to attend meetings?

I'm not sure exactly what you told your friend about the organization, but it takes a lot of guts to take that risk. I certainly wouldn't trust telling my friends inside the org. about the stuff I know. Also, your friend sounds really sincere and open minded. I'm not sure exactly what you should tell her, but ask yourself these questions:
1. When you look at the big picture, do you believe the "flaws" of the organization are just flaws, or sometimes are the actions of the organization in your mind deliberate rather then being mistakes by "imperfect men".
2. After what you have learned, can you fully trust the organization to give advice on daily, spiritual, or even on health matters?
Whatever you choose to do, before you can answer your friend's question, it seems like you have to figure out where you stand in this whole thing. I know others will have better answers to the questions your friend asked.
Where will you go?
This question absolutely bothers me when it comes to JWs. They can't seem to accept the possibility that you can serve God without the wtbts. That whole question makes the assumption that JWs have the truth. But if you're not sure that they have the truth, there are many places to go, many different religions to explore, you might even want to study the Bible by yourself without the influence of someone else's intrepetation.
Hope this helps

Welcome to JWD shana97490! You're going to find plenty of great advice here, and you can learn alot from the experiences of others.
In the meetings, everybody unaware me they act as if I did not exist as if I was excluded, I was so sade to be among people who are "so called : friend of God and who had to practice LOVE" acting like that.
That story is told to often by those who leave the organization....they claim they are true christians because they have "love" for each other, when in fact it's the opposite. Those same people are willing to talk behind your back, spread rumours, and do anything if it suits their needs. Like imallgrowedup said, you don't have to worry about God destroying you for leaving the organization....if anything it would be the organization that would have some explaining to do to God.
