i recieved a phone call last night from a brother who i was able to verify was of the anointed.

he stated he represented a large group of anointed from within the organization and they wanted to send me a letter.

For what it's worth, I think what was said is shorthand for "I verified they PROFESS to be of the anointed." Bowen certainly does not claim direct communication with God.

i was wondering... can the elders df you in absentia if you haven't admitted to doing anything wrong??.

my ex wanted his scriptural grounds for a divorce and i told him he had them.

he went to the elders with this info and they called me up last night to try and get me to confess ( which i didn't- i told them it was none of thier business) they told me that they were having a judicial for me wed at 7, and i said i wouldn't be there.

I love the expression used elsewhere -- thugs. What an apt description! Thugs do what they want to. Never mind what the Flock book says, never mind procedure, they get their stripes and their jollies from stomping their way through, damn any little peon who gets in the way. or even someone who has humbly served for many many decades.

Cite procedure all you want to, right now what I see is SURVIVAL. So they do anything they damned well please.

They can't disfellowship you for "that"? They have to WHAT? Where have you kind souls been? You have spent your life playing by the rules, but that has all changed. They can damn well conjure up anything and say you have disassociated yourself by your conduct. Who the hell is going to challenge it? No appeals commitee will rock the boat. Service department backing off? THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT RUNS SERVICE.

The jack-booted thugs do not have to believe they are protecting the precious organization, they just do it under that guise. They just like their power. Qualified men are long gone, and in the vacuum a group of brown shirts has taken their place. You nice guys are in the minority and a quickly disappearing breed. That's not my humble opinion, that's fact.

Totally disillusioned and ready to come out of my dub closet.

I wrote in a passionate moment and likely said too much. But a deep breath and here goes anyway. Physician who was most understanding, arranging things so that it was not done in even an ICU where others would discover it. Husband who felt great relief that he had made a truly conscientious decision about two lives, no problem. Shook him to his teeth, began to look at other teachings, slowing down organizationally and not accepting assignments. Baby doing great, mother a total wreck and plagued by guilt, can accept it only because of headship, wanted to live for the baby but now thinks she is spiritually weak, ect, ect. One elder knew and encouraged husband, but knows he would have been thrown out in a minute if a very hard and rigid CO knew about it, or some other elders in the cong who would jump at the chance.

I'm well aware of the directive not to pursue matters, but that's not really the way it works. Elders are rewarded for snitching and love to mix it up to show their power. The rewards are convention parts, special invitations, hobnobbing, and all that.

Silentlambs and Signifiers that Signify Nothing

call me a neopositivist, a semi-verificationist or semi-falsificationist, but the claims made by "silentlambs" reminds me of the shakespearean line that was quoted in the creator book published by the wtbts.

that is, the contentions of silentlambs seem like much "sound and fury" that in truth signify nothing.

i am of course referring to the supposed dateline show and the claims made about some members of the gb of jehovah's witnesses.

Not exactly an endearing comment. He says to Max, "you have JW rationalism imbedded in your brain." I thought he was joking, then I realized he obviously has not read Maximus posts.

Frankly the Writing Correspondence department handles a ton of mail like this. You are not writing "the Society," some kindly GB member or wisened elder. Letters are scanned, digitized and processed, with template-like replies that are generic and rarely specific. It may be suggested that you spend more time in prayer and personal study, that perhaps your faith is beginning to wane in Jehovah's organization. If a matter is unclear and they cannot explain it, there is a line the word processor will invariably drop in: "Adopt a waiting attitude like that of Micah."

Depending on the level of your comments, a letter may go to your body of elders from "the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses," formerly the Service Department, to help "readjust" you, humble tone or not. Of course it should not be wrong to ask questions, but by the new baptism vows you have joined an organization and should fully embrace its beliefs--all of them. That's their position.

The position is this: "If it is in print, it has the authority of the faithful slave and therefore is truth." They are the sole arbiters of truth. The President of the Society N. H. Knorr was fond of saying: "Once it leaves the sixth floor [press room], it is truth."

The distorted quotations are nothing new, they have existed for many, many decades. It's a shock to recognize them for oneself.

This is not to dissuade you, but to let you hear the voice of experience.
