Every time we buy a new car, we run it up the Tail to "break it in". It's become something of a tradition. Fun drive. My husband wants to do it on motorcycles, but you'll never get me on those death traps. 😋

I got up yesterday morning (Saturday) and enjoyed the watchtower work
by Zoos inreaching the fire watchtower on top of wayah bald overlooking the smokey mountains can be a difficult hike from nantahala lake up the bartram and appalachian trails where they straddle each other passing through this area.
the most enjoyable watchtower work i've ever participated in.. the views from the tower are spectacular.. .
looking across nantahala forest to the smoky mountains, described poetically as the most elevated peak; from whence i beheld with rapture and astonishment, a sublimely awful scene of power and magnificence, a world of mountains piled upon mountains.

You were in my neck of the woods. Sorta. I've been up there many times. It is truly gorgeous. Did you drive the "Tail of the Dragon".? We love that drive. Too bad it was too early for the Autumn color change. But, to be honest, we don't get great color change in TN. -

Last I knew, having a criminal record did not entitle the police to execute you in the street. In fact, most "crimes" don't have any punishment even close to the death penalty, much less lynching, which is what the police are doing. Having a badge doesn't exempt them from the law. Except that it does in the US. -

When the government, as represented by the police, start a war by killing its citizens in the street, it seems a bit hypocritical to then ask for a "time out" when the people begin to fight back. Baltimore has a LONG history of police brutality. Look at the money they have paid out in the last 15-20 years to settle brutality cases. All is fair in war. Just look at how we have conducted ourselves overseas. -

chipotle has opted to only use non-gmo food items.. hooray for them.
i'm pretty neutral on the subject, mostly because, other than questionable treatment of farmers, i have seen no evidence to avoid gmo's for health reasons.. basically, my neutrality boils down to the stance that i'll buy non-gmo, so long as the price is reasonable.

I never stated they were safe or unsafe. Nor did I hint at any leaning one way or the other. Additionally, research is my entire career, so I am quite capable of making educated decisions about what I put in my body, whether it be foods or medications, or other chemicals. My point was simply that everyone should have a right to know what their food is, and where it comes from. Again, this should not be remotely controversial to anyone. I am not sure why that prompted such a visceral response from you.

My only issue with GMOs is that as a consumer I should have the right to know the origins of my food. GMO labeling should be mandatory. So should origins of fruits and veggies, as well as fish. None of this should be remotely controversial to food companies. -

They purchased the property, within an appropriately zoned area. When the local "Christian school" got wind of what was happening, they petitioned the city to get the zoning changed, essentially making the clubs investment worthless. I think this is the most ingenious solution I've ever heard of. Don't mess with the swingers. Half of them are attorneys. -

We both work full time. I do most of the inside work, outside stuff is his domain. He brings me coffee in bed every morning, and fills my car with fuel every week. He is a rare gem. We share child rearing and cooking and caring for our chickens. We share checking accounts and all financial decisions.
After watching the oppression my mother was under as a JW wife, I know I could never have it any other way.

I am rabidly pro-choice, but it becomes difficult when the pregnant female is a child. It is your job to ensure she makes good choices that do not destroy her life. If it were my daughter, I would strongly encourage early termination. I speak as one who has experienced both abortion and child birth. -

Can confirm. They are all over Tennessee. Hubby came home asking me about them because he saw two of them just in the last week. I was in complete disbelief. I keep asking myself how far they have to go for my family to see TTATT.
