Actually thats not true, But I have thought that all the brainwashing I had as a JW to be friendly, eye contact, asking questions, a caring attitude etc etc may not be the 'real me' at all.
I enjoy being perfectly horrid sometimes, to somehow counteract all the being such a lovely christian, for all those years!
so i'm new to this forum but i just thought that someone out there might be able to relate to the situation i'm in---here it goes...!
i'm stuck in the middle of my spouse who is no longer a witness and his family who are very involved in the religion i myself was raised jewish and don't really have any commitments to any religion but don't see anything wrong with those that do however my husband is very anti anti-any type of organized religion.... at times i think he's against me because i had a normal upbringing with a big loving family and a normal childhood during which i could play sports and mingle with all types of friends regardless of their background... but my husband has a lot of anger about his childhood that he missed out on and the sports he didn't get to play and "excel" at so now he has no appreciation for things that i find important holidays or pushing yourself beyond your own physical limits just to see how far you can... life can be really difficult at times and i feel like we were raised on two different planets!!!!!!!!!!
eventhough my husband is no longer in the religion sometimes i feel like it is a 3rd partner in our marriage that i have to constantly compete with and work hard to overshadow.... i'm trying so hard not to let this break me but at times i'm at my wits end... can you relate????

It must be very frustrating for you being in that almost no win situation.
I suggest if you can, is for him to look at this board too, and for him to gain the support he needs to get to come to terms with his childhood etc.
I think you are right that he probably is jealous of your upbringing.
Others here on this forum will be able to give you support and guidance, there are some really sound people here

anyone had the experience of nervously knocking on someone's door and talking about a "topic" and the householder has misunderstood why your there !.
my experience:.
was on the door telling the householder about local politcs and how they all were the same in their views and that no party has the solution to end the problems we face etc etc.
That story rang a bell with me, householders often used to get the wrong end of the stick with me.
I was out on the min a few years back and offered the watchtower and awake?
the woman said she didn't have a weight problem ?
she thought I said would she like to watch her weight?
I had garbled it so quickly it had sounded like that.........ooops
with my phd!
finally after all these long years.
the funny thing tho is that i'm walking through the ceremony, but not getting my diploma... yet.

most of us that have left are far happier but your the only one to get to move to Hawaii that I know
most jws seem to be "devout" in that they go to 5 meetings and out in field service.
yet, many also lived double lives.

well exactly as the title says...my 4 year old daughter, obviously tired of my dithering has taken matters into her own hands!.
the background is that i was bought up in the troof, and began my fade about 6 months ago.
i had been talking to my daughter about us not going to the meetings anymore and she accepted it very well.
good for her!! I hope all works out well and your parents come to terms pretty quickly for the sake of your kids! My parents haven't reacted as badly as I thought so hopefully you'll be a ok

hello everyone, i am new to this discussion board.
my name is pinned blouse because once i was wrongly df'd and i no longer attended the meetings, i noticed all my blouses had pin holes in them where i fastened safety pins in them to make sure i was always "modest" lol.
mind you i do not have large boobies but i did not want to "tempt" the brothers.. .
