Look after yourself. When something similar like that happened to me. I sought out a therapist and took a whole year off to think and be still !

I walked off the job today....
by Terry incan't explain this one.. right in the middle of my shift i became disassociative.. my brain locked and i threw my hands up and kept repeating, "i can't do this!
i can't take this!
right out the front door of the bookstore.. i wasn't angry.

Reading posts on this site helps me in numerous ways.
It is reassuring to know I am not on my own, that others too realize what utter rubbish JW's spew.
The mind control of JW's is very strong and years after leaving you can need support with issues.
This forum does that, it gives support for members leaving and insight into the 'evil cult' that is JW.
At others times JWD is a fun place to visit but mostly it is thought provoking and challenging.

Did You Personally Know of Sex Offenders In The Congregation?
by minimus ini knew of 1 person that should've been reported to the authorities for fooling around with his sisters when he was an older teen and they were much younger.
it was hushed up by the elders, as this was considered a very prominent family.
the allegations were made probably 20 years ago, well before i was ever in that hall.

Yes lots over the years in the home counties area, a few of whom did go to prison but when they came out were re instated
and then when we moved to the west country it was even worse, but being covered over.
These people are still so smug thinking they have the 'truth' it makes you sick to your stomach

JWs and the weird way they say Happy Birthday
by reneeisorym inyou who don't know -- i'm daed but my mother still sends me very short e-mail about every two months.. this morning she sent me an email that said:.
25 today.
it would be sooooo wrong for someone to say -- "happy birthday" .. but its fine to mention that i am 25 today.

Yes My mum and my late father always phoned or texted on my birhtday
and now my mum always buys my son a largish present just after his birthday
I think it is odd but sweet too in its way

they offer help to members and ex members leaving extreme groups (including jw's).
i met christian szurko at a post cult workshop just as i was leaving jw .. he helped me beyond measure .

This guy did not come across religious or extreme in any way I believe with this site and the workshop I attended 2 years ago
I managed my exit with a less grief.
