About DF, it has softened. It used to be the disgracing publicly of an individual with a talk following the DF rebuking the related person about his sins. Public reproof was also hard. And then, the stern look from the elders and the looks of contempt from the others. Now, a person is DF privately although the cong is informed later that the person is no longer JW. Relatives still deals with him, although some people are fanatical and completely shun a family member not having anything to do with him, but that is something that they do on their own. The cong also deals with the DF JW with kindness and encourages that one from time to time to come to the meetings. The DF person is greeted at the meetings by some and also when seen on the street. Everything considered though, if the person makes no effort at all, or is advocating breaking the rules or brazenly breaking the rules, then it depends. But if the DF person is making some effort, then he is treated with kindness and reminded that he is a brother. Multi DF has been discussed at assemblies encouraging such to get up from their many falls. Anyway you cut it though, getting DF or reproved is a disgraceful thing, it is hard. The elders will never let you forget it and even if the person is ever used again in office, it is not the same as with someone that was never was dishonored. How do you live down something like that? You can't. You know it and so does everybody else. -

Is homosexuality ever justifiable? I say YES!!!
by TimothyT inin the january 2012 awake, pages 28-29 there is another article about homosexuality.. .
the writers argue that genetics, the environment, and sexual abuse do not justify homosexuality.
the bible clearly states that homosexuality is wrong and is an abhorrent sin.

It was posted on another thread that some JW are celibate homosexuals. That means that being a JW does not change homosexual feelings and that they can never fulfill their homosexual desires. JW will DF anyone for a number of things not just for homosexual conduct. Not only because some JW have homosexual feelings do they have empathy and compassion and mercy for them, but other JW have learned too, to be understanding in their view of others. Even at the assemblies it has been declared that some JW holding office in the cong have homosexual feelings. This informs everyone that they are accepted even qualified to hold office. They are not mocked or despised or viewed with contempt. And when they sin, it is understood that they are only human struggling to do do what the "BIble says" just as everyone else is with their own propensity. IN some countries, they persecute and kill homosexuals. How cruel and presumptuous that is. In the US people are allowed to pursue their own happiness. Why shouldn't they as long as the rights of others are not being encroached? How God will deal with a person is between God and such person. Some sins, a person just can stop doing, but feelings and inclinations of the mind and heart, people cannot do on their own. All they can do is try. -

The Org is terrified of apostates
by SecretSlaveClass ini knew apostasy was a serious concern for the org, but until i watched this video, i had no idea how afraid they actually were.
all this guy wants is to do is not turn in his fs hours and immediately they (elders) set about drilling him about who are what influenced his decision, as if he was incapable of making his own (which as the elders confirm, in the org is highly discouraged).
they are convinced he has been communicating with apostates or visiting apostate web sites.

I was told that the main reasons why people leave JW is for sex, apathy because they'd rather be doing something else, or they get angry. Very few for apostasy.JW that leave seldom join another religion. Before the net, since apostates could not publish their views and explain their position, they had very little influence on the JW. Shortly after the turn of the century, the WT was concerned that apostate thinking on the net would persuade JW, because it did. But that has been going on now for over a decade, and most JWs are apostate savvy now and they still choose JW. JW are convinced of their position in-spite of the challenging evidence against what the WT taught in times past. JW would never leave because of that. -

On the TV, well that's entertainment
In Europe, serious commercials for bras, etc., show women topless.. I never saw any sign at beach advertising topless females. I was told that in NY a couple of days ago, there was some guy parading topless females through the streets. He was arrested for smoking cannabis, the women were not touched. Women need to assert their right to go topless before they loose it. I think that elderly women though, should not be allowed because it is disrespect for the elderly. Are there any JW rules in Europe about watching tv and going to the beach, etc.? I do not think that there is anything the watchtower can do if women went topless in NYC. Everyone would be forced to watch. I can just see the outrage and offense in the faces of the JW men. Perhaps they would not be so offended because of all the porn all over the net. "There's nothin like the real thing, baby.." What a time to move to Warwick!

Or should women not be allowed to go topless in public. What is your view? -

I knew apostasy was a serious concern for the Org
Do you really think that the wts is concerned about anything at all? I doubt it. First of all the wts believes that God is leading them and backing them up.
When things are good and there is growth, it means the work is is being blessed. When there is persecution or apostasy, it means that Satan is busy and the end is getting closer. But whatever the case, the wts believes that God is handling it. So, they are not concerned at all; they do what they can and leave in God's hands.
The old charismatic gb were loved, and respected by their old, non anointed, jw contemporaries, and all jws. The new generation gb (not charismatic) is challenging for some JW. --Nevertheless all JW believe that God is leading the org.

Do you believe Jehovah's Witnesses' Governing Body is the "faithful slave"?
by Marvin Shilmer inthis question is known to be posed by jws to other jws as an acid test of loyalty.
i'm not the first to notice what i'm about to point out and comment accordingly, but today i felt compelled to add a short article on my blog highlighting the new language that governing body member geoffrey jackson supplies as a response.
a person who honestly hesitates to respond with a robust "yes!

uncantone: I read your posts. I do not respond to every post, but I consider anything that I think has any merit. I think that you contribute something of substance.
Regarding your quotation about "mouthpiece," I am not sure what the author wanted the reader to understand when reading that. I think that JW concluded that God communicated with FDS in some special, exclusive way not privy to common JW, a channel of HS direct communication.
The WTS still proclaims that it is being led by HS. The excerpt from the 6/15 wt mag, if you read it, still claims that God is the source of the spiritual food they publish (compare De 8:3"..from God's mouth") in other words, they still make the same claim (mouthpiece.) However, the wts has made public that there is nothing special about the HS that God gives the FDS, it is the same HS experienced by all JW. JW understand and believe it.

The wts basically teaches that the acid test for loyalty is whether or not a person speaks apostate lies opposite to the healthful teaching. It is not based upon a litmus question. Albeit, any doubts about what GJ said, the 6/15 wt mag that I quoted from in my previous post says it in writing-"You have it in writing." "Why go beyond the things written?" In that article from the GB, it states, that God is the source of JW "spiritual food" JW believe that. But if a single PH question should be used upon a JW, it would be about the clear convincing evidence of God's HS exclusively in the JW as I have explained in my previous post. Jesus said to the Jews, the nation of Israel, that God had been using exclusively: "The Kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation producing its fruits."
Evidence: Pentecost (Jewish festival of first fruits)
