unless, - unless, they are also a Jehovah’s Witness?
You miss the whole point. You want to force JW because that’s what you like or you want to abolish family Courts and force family members to like each other and talk to each other when you like it because you like it?Fisherman

The religious community shuns members when they leave the group
So do Family Courts with orders of protection and jail.
While the government may guarantee free morality and pursuit of happiness that is not the belief and practice of a religious community who may wants a family member to stop or change a moral path allowed by the government. Not being a JW a father may not want a son to use druxs or live a amoral lifestyle. The gov protects a person’s right to be free but a parent wants his son to be happy and to be healthy and to prosper. He won’t tolerate conduct that he believes is devastating to his child. The group lives by a moral code and allowing conduct outside the morality harms the offender and the group. The group should not be forced by the gov to tolerate conduct outside beliefs and practices of the group. Free to live however you like but it offends and hurts the group and the father wants the son to live a different life.

Deaf Aotearoa flooded with complaints about Jehovah's Witness church
by OrphanCrow indeaf aotearoa flooded with complaints about jehovah's witness churchkashka tunstalllast updated 15:22, october 6 2015deaf aotearoa has asked the jehovah's witness church to respond to claims of a deaf information database.new zealand's deaf community is fed up with unsolicited house calls, claiming the jehovah's witness church is targeting deaf households.deaf aotearoa has received multiple complaints from around the country and says church members visited certain homes because they were aware a deaf person lived there.
the organisation released a statement on monday, saying it was looking into the possibility the church holds a database listing the details of members of the deaf community.jehovah witness spokesman rod spinks said there was no such database and deaf people were not being targeted.the deaf aotearoa statement was posted on the group's facebook page, and received a flood of comments from frustrated people.one woman said a group of jehovah's witnesses had come to her house and asked "for the deaf person who lives here.
" she said they refused to explain how they had her details and didn't visit her neighbours.another said church members had turned up at her work and asked for her by name.hamilton man royce flynn said he had been visited six times over the last nine months, despite repeatedly saying he was uninterested in the house calls.he said the church members were always able to sign and also brought deaf people along, which lead him to believe he was being singled out.flynn said contacted local police, who told him it was a privacy issue and referred him on to the office of the privacy commissioner.he said he had been been in contact with local labour member of parliament sue moroney.deaf aotearoa acting chief executive jill dean said complaints about the church were a recurring issue.

in uk anyway due to Data Protection laws .
Yeah. If it is illegal in UK, JW cannot do that anymore. In the US it is legal. I can’t see why it should not be legal to collect information. It is being done all of the time by different entities so why target JW unless it is a pretext to get back at them.

Why the name change from Watchtower Bible College of Gilead to Watchtower Bible School of Gilead?
by was a new boy indid too many jehovah's witness kids get curious about wanting to go to a real college?.
they really don't give an explanation, it's like old light and new light, one reads the new light, and .
in the spirit of loyalty, the subject gets dropped, and there's no more talk about the old name again.. .

Some thoughts on the message of doom
by JeffT inone of the recent threads on the talk about the hailstone message got me to thinking.
the problem with putting out a message like that is what to do when nothing happens.
i have to think that somebody will be asking that question.

What Will JW's Do If They Find Themselves Still Conscious after Death?
by Sea Breeze inwe all know that despite many scriptures to the contrary, jw's believe that when they die, their consciousness will cease.
my question is this: what will be the likely reaction of jw's if they find themselves conscious after death?.

Jef, It is not about JW interpreting correct or incorrect what the Bible means. I think that for the most part, JW have deciphered the Bible.
The one and only issue now is WHEN. When will God act. JW have been coming up with dates but that is not prophecy or false prophecy when the dates dod not realize but only interpretation.

RB, When Jesus restored the ear that Peter cut off, nobody noticed. Imagine Jesus resurrecting the dead and performing miracles in public view. That is why Jesus replied to the Pharisees The kingdom of God is on your midsts. So it is not a coincidence. —Albeit, my point which I highlighted with my other posts is a reply to the perception that JW out in the ministry talk about people getting destroyed and JW keeping their property. I think I’ve replied to that.
