  2008 study WT will be confiscated from non-publishers

  the literature servant told me that their instructions are to only give one study wt per publisher starting with the january 1st, 2008 issue.

  under no circumstances are they to provide any other copies (if lost or whatever, much like kms are provided now).

  any guests attending the wt study will be provided a copy, but then the servant who gave them the copy must confiscate it after the meeting.

  after finding this forum and being raised in the jw religion, i found jwd a refreshing place for honest feelings, fears, life experiences etc.. the history of the jw's was exposed, and those who lived any experience under this regime has been told by many members.. to be lied to by any forum member is insulting.

  i have over my past year and 1/2 come to love many posters.

  i realize many more have much longer time put in here.. i have been honest and exposed more of my self than i care to think about, but always kept in mind that others were doing the same and it was best for anyone new.. to lie on this forum to all of these members is horrible and i am questioning why i am so honest here.

  I think that you are mistaken. This forum allows people to freely post their views. Not everyone is going to say what you want or like or expect. You are going to disagree with some or many posters. I do but at the same time I do not think that posters are dishonest.

  Not really in the sense of no strings attached. Jws are people like eveyone else but there seems to be something motivating benevolance towards another jw and that is what they are getting out of it from the cong.

  Case in point: A jw eld may talk to a depressed jw that he happened to meet on the street one day.Perhaps the jw has been bmissing meetings. THe eld would appear to be very encouraging and loving and even listen to private expressions meant for his ears only. BUt later the eld would tell the po or the whole body about the incident. The eld would say. "Heyyyy bro so an so, I came across bro soo and so while going home, I encouraged him I nvited hinm to the meetings. He sems to be concerned with this and that. He said this and and that."

  A fellow jw cannot be truly trusted as he may go to the eld and reveal confidential talk. An eld cannot be truly trusted as he can reveal confidential talk to the po or his family or other eld. THere are exceptions with the eld and the jws but it does not cancell out the others that hurt people.

  JWS and people in general are out for themselves. "Spritual" acts in the cong can be motivated by competition for position respect recognition attention duty. That is not to say that jws do not have compassion and pity and such like virtues, they do!! and even more so than the average mo!

  But in relation to each other generally ( and hyprocricaly with the excexption of family members) there seems to be a motive behind any seeming caring act and a jw needs to be careful and analyze when another jw offeerrs to do something etc. Is it love or for points.

  jehovahs witnesses are taught that it is ok to lie, if it in someway helps to support their organization, or helps to deflect criticism of it.. .

  jehovah's witnesses are known to give appearances that they are normal, just like the average american.

  I have spoke to Mormons. They cannot support their views, offering only circular reasoning and ilogical thinking. A waste of time. For example: A mormon would say. THe kjv Bible is the best. I say why. They say Because it is translated correctly. I say why do you think so They say because it inspired by God. I say God did not inspire the kjv translators. Those translators did not claim to be inspired but the Bible writers did make that claim. THey say support your views. I say The reason for our dialogue is for you to show that the kjv is the best. THey say I told you why. it is because it is translated it correctly, cant you understand english?

  You cannot be df because of joining the military because it will cause the wts trouble. Therefore, in order to avoid that trouble the wts uses disass as the means to kick you out. But really, any other act that has the df penalty is quite the same, but because the wts cannot get in trouble to df a person for those other sins. You get df for lying, sex sins, stealing, But if it ever became the law of the land that such sins were protected by law or anything like that, then the wts will make such sins a disass and not a df. disass is a clever way to circumvent df. Of course, members can also go that route disass instead of getting df.

  But simply put. You will not get df but you will still get kicked out through disass.

  but no one i knew ever admitted this, it was all about 'loving jehovah'.

  One of the reasons why all of the jws worship and also stay in the cong is because of fear. God will punish umbelievers. The Cong will disfel, repro mark ostrazize or demote ones that do not keep in line.

  in all 4 gospels, every time that jesus said "this generation" he was refering to his contemporaries, the people that lived in his time.

  Leolia, I did not mean A+B=C. That is your personal conclusion as to what I meant. I was not trying to show that double fufilment must follow because of my previous 2 statements.

  I meant that it seems to me that what you said in your previous commentary is similar to what the wts teaches about double fulfilment.

  The statemnt about CERTAINLY is my personal conviction.

  It is a matter of historical fact that some parts of the prophecy did come true, for example, the disgusting thing that causes desolation, but other parts of the prophecy, Jesus return and Judgement Day did not. But Jessus said: " When you see all of these thing..."

  What did Jessu mean by "you" and what did Jessus mean by "all". The Apsstles did not see all of the sign come to pass.

  Interestingly, Jesus likened his prophecy to a fig tree saying: ".. when you see all .." meaning all parts of the prophecy must be seen within the same time period.

  The Apostles did not see all of the prophecy come to pass in their time, so when Jessu says "you" and all" the prophecy appears to ahve another meaning other than how it applied to Jesus age.

  Dawg, Jesus could not be wrong because he was the messiah therefore his prophecy must realize. Since ALL PARTS of it did not come to pass in his generation, certainly those part must come true later on. But some parts did come true. (When you see Jerurasalm.. encamped..her desolation has drawn near (other verses use the term shikutz instead of roman armies)).

  I submit that the comming of the Messiah has a double fulflment.

  AS a result of how some parts came true and others did not come true yet, a problem in understanding what the prophecy means later on arises. Would the entire prophecy have a parallel fulfilment or will only parts of the prophecy will be later fulfilled. Take note that the prophecy speaks of judgement day so that has not come to pass and that part MUST realize later on.

  Jesus words MUST come true because he said that heaven and earth will pass away but not his words

  The wts has been blamed for spiritualzing prophecies but it was Jesus who started this. Jesus called John the B Elijah. JTB was not Elijah but Jesus said he was. Before Jesus, traditional jews had a literal way of looking at things. Also read Paul's Epistles.

  The wts taught that the 1914 generation would not pass away and that the 1914 generation is the prophetic one that Jesus mentioned and now in order to keep 1914 they say that the generation means the annointed that will not pass away until the prophecy is fulfilled. With this understaing "this geneartin" has lasted thousands of years now since Jesus apostles till now and should last thousands of yearsr to the future withh all of the new annointed comming in and more to follow until the end comes. In other words, according to the wts, 1914 fulfills bible prophecy no matter what, and the end will come not restricted by the meaning of generation.
