What's your most annoying phrase?
by ozziepost inyou know those people who pepper their conversations with phrases that were fashionable once but now - it's just plain annoying!.
probably the phrases travel the world.
"at the end of the day".

I haven't seen this one, but hear it every day from every co-worker who "thinks" they've accomplished something...long, drawn out and with a high musical pitch on the second syllable that doesn't exist: "ke-wl" aka "cool". I hate that.

How do most of you....
by TallTexan inhandle being called on by jw's in service?
do you try to 'show them the light' or just be polite, or even angry?
also, i heard it rumored once that the local cong's kept a file on all 'apostates' in their territory and wouldn't let the publishers call on them for fear of them being 'turned'.

I actually love what my brother did when they came calling at his door. He looks a little like Charles Manson, full beard, long dark hair (no tattoo on the forehead thank god).
He got so ticked off, he came out the front door pointed at both of the little dubbies and told them he was the Anti-Christ and to leave now! Their eyes got as big as saucers and they nearly tripped each other up in their haste to haul ass.
Since then, he hasn't been bothered. Been waiting to try that one out myself.

A matter of conscience or more?
by overitforgood inthere are a couple co-workers who are jw?s.
needless to say, i find their actions and their beliefs to be at odds.
this one particular witness knowingly participated in a group lunch sponsored by a religious radio station recently (among other questionable activities in the past).

Oh yes, he's very vocal about it. And the other JW's are as well. If he's trying to live a double life, he's not doing a very good job of it.

There are a couple co-workers who are JW?s. Needless to say, I find their actions and their beliefs to be at odds. This one particular witness knowingly participated in a group lunch sponsored by a religious radio station recently (among other questionable activities in the past). He even won a Christian T-shirt promoting the station. Since he knowingly participated in this event, and is an active JW, how would his congregation and other JW?s view this action? Is it considered ?conscience? or a serious offense?
