  Celtic, I'm to understand you like the simple life? As to Rio, my wife and were there in the 80's, but not at Carnival time. It was a ten-day promotional trip. Great place to visit, just don't carry valaubles around with you and keep a limited amount of money in your pocket. If you've been there, you'll know what I mean. Like Jamaica, when it rains the streets get flooded. In fact some weeks ago Rio had such a rain fall that it created serious mudslides. It was sad to see so many children living in the streets. I'm thankful for what I have.

  Do You Still Have Boundaries or Are You Totally Liberated Now?

  jehovah's witnesses must have boundaries to be confined in.

  if they want to get out of "the box", they will find themselves out of the organization.

  many jws feel that they need such boundaries or else they would be either be in jail or dead.

  Min, one of the inevitable experience's you will encounter in golf is going out of bounds, and you pay the price. Mind you, you don't do it on purpose.

  One will never be truly liberated. Natural rules and laws are put there for our protection. When we go beyond those rules and laws, we pay the price.

  We all have choices. Why just yesterday, one of the locals got himself polluted (drunk) and he suffered three days for it. I didn't have pity for him. If you want to make an ass out of yourself, suffer the consequences. I went through it and I kept my mouth shut.

  back in the 90s (i think it was '96?

  ) was the first time i punched in "jehovah's witnesses" on google.

  the "generation" change had finally flipped me, and i knew in my heart that i would never again be the "happy little jw" that i'd once been.. well, lemme just say that the "vigor" .

  onacruse, my wife showed me an ad in our local newspaper, Mcgregor Ministry, and out of curiosity I wanted to hear what they had to say about JW's. This led me to Randy's site and later to H20. The latter site didn't have that many 'class' of exJW's. I still remember one one VILE tongue individual and I PM him about it. He had this propensity of belittling others. This individual wasn't going to influence me to his way of thinking, no way! Excuse me for getting off track, there's a purpose to my madness.
  

  Now, I'm here. The begining had its moments, and I'm glad Simon put his foot down otherwise it would be another 'witness forum gone wild.' When I play golf tournaments the first thing I ask for is the RULES. Golf rules are designed to help you, not punish you. If the rules are not to one's liking don't play. Selfish and inconsiderate people want to play by 'their' rules. These people are not happy in life.

  Here's a question, what other group can talk about their religion on an international scale like us?

  LW, the system has conditioned the people to be self-absorbed. People don't give a hoot about other things (including the JW's) unless it affects them. Any sex scandal is just a juicy topic to some, again, until it affects them. Only when the message hits home, do people wake up. The C.C's pedophilia scandal has crowded out the Society's vile pedophilia's. My only understanding to this piece of puzzle is, the time is not ripe yet. The org. will yet have it's 15 minutes of fame!

  What Would A Jehovah's Witness Romance Novel Be Like?

  i was reading in the religion page of the newspaper today that the mormons are enjoying romance novels in which descriptions of the characters' sex lives are limited to little more the first kiss--- that could happen after they are engaged to be married........any ideas of what a jw romance novel might be like?

  since i started working at the bar,,,,,,,,,i hear all kinds of things.....most of the time i am sure someone is just pulling my leg and think they surely dont believe what they just said.

  Nothing like a newbie barmaid. Don't worry, if you have any questions people will be willing to help out.

  We use to have a barmaid in Brooklyn where the ironworkers hung out, and she freely expose her big boobies. I don't think you have to worry about doing the same thing or is that a dumb question? I'll hold off on my serious question.

  some of you will remember that i occasionally brag on my dear friend, jann, who has been such a wonderful, caring friend to me since i moved to michigan from ontario over 10 years ago and whose love and support i could not have done without recently when my mother fell ill and then died.

  (rayzor is a cheerleader of hers, too!

  ) well, ten days ago, she finally joined the forum as "kidneybean," a reference to her new lease on life since last august thanks to an organ donor.

  Thanks for the laugh Maverick. I'm lucky I've never been that brainwashed by the dubs even after all the years I've known them, but then again, I've been in and out a few lengthy times. I guess I can thank all my worldly company. I pity those who have been locked in all their lives. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes.

  Firstinline. The org's definition of worldliness isn't really defined. I agree with your comment that, "I do a lot of things that dubs would call worldly but in reality are things everyone does, even dubs." That raises the question, are mundane things worldly?

  I guess anything and everything we do that's not devoted in the interest of the 'corporation,' is worldly. In other words, we should neglect our families, friends and ourselves and seek first the corporation's interest! Since when did God's Kingdom become a corporation. If Jesus were living in 'our' generation would he have a Christian corporation? Wouldn't that be worldly? He did say that his Kingdom is not of this world.
