JT, now what? Give yourself time. Keep seaching and asking questions, things will slowly fall into place, as the saying goes, Rome wasn't built in a day.

Did you pray because you felt like it or because you were told to?
by JH inwitnesses pray many times a day.
at the field service, at the meetings, before each meal and even more.. i don't know if you're like me, but i didn't pray because i felt like it, but because i was told to.. personally, 1 long honest prayer a week would have been much better than 20 routine prayers.
did you feel that it was natural to pray 3 times a day or more?.

My concept differs in that I talk to my Creator as a friend. I give him thanks for the things I have and able to enjoy. My friend forgives in a 'large' way. I talk to him throughout the day, no need for a cell phone,I have an automatic connection, and its FREE!

Is it right for Man to rule Man?
by ko38 inhello once again to those that were helpful to me in my time of leaving the wbts.i said i wouldnt post for a while, but it turns out ive learned a lot in the past 2 weeks.so here goes with my shot of seeing if im adjusting according to schedule.. in my search of my own christian freedom i have found myself led down a path that is a simple one.that being the path of acceptance.the acceptance of my own sinful nature and that of others.im not saying that it is coming easy,i am only saying that i see the need.. imho when looking for salvation i myself feel that it is not to us to judge.several of us agree on that.but that is not easy for us to do as humans,i was looking for someone or something to replace the wbts but after some personal study of the scriptures and some help from all the links and archives here i have come to a point of humility.. in all things in this world the one thing we want most is love.what does that mean?
some may say it means the love of a spouse or the love recieved from your children etc...i know being both a married man with a wife that loves me and i her that those bonds are strong and bring comfort.my children for both myself and my wife bring a sense of joy to our hearts and we love them.. i think i might be at least on the right track when i feel love for those other than my family.the story about the good sammaritan is a very good example.to be loving to those who otherwise do not have your best interest at heart is the challenge that jesus christ has set before us.. this is more directed towards new ones out of the grip of the watchtower bible and tract societys dogmatic and unsupported claims to be the only channel to salvation.which upon minimal searching of the truth is proved both false and misleading.. jehovahs witnesses find it difficult to realise that their salvation is in jesus.most often only mentioning him as we pray through or in his name.
i wonder at least for myself, if god isnt trying his hardest to wait until we see how simple salvation really is.he has given us a way to be forgiven and so many choose not to make full use of it.when all it may have very well taken was a belief in jesus and a turning around of our sins.. wow, that sure beats the things we all for the most part have gone through with the jws.to be bitter is not a loving course, because most are bitter with god after coming out of an oppresive cult as the jws.god nor jesus told us to do this it was our fault and satans.why not have the love for god once again and believe in the ransom that jesus paid.. mans religion will always lead to sorrow lets please all have the hope and love of the savior our lord jesus christ..........ken

"Do not put your trust in nobles, Nor in the sons of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs, his spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish." Ps. 146:3,4.
Were are all these great WT speakers gone? All is vanity.

Freedom or Bondage.....a Hard Choice for Many
by gumby inlately something has bothered me as regards to many on jwd who wonder what to do, once they have found the organisation to be a destructive, mind controling sect.
aside from these ones deciding how to exit without causing a judicial meeting nor a stir among the publishers, it whether or not they want to risk their marriage and or family ties.. many on this site have related how their marriage fell to pieces because the dub mate could not accept their loved one "leaving jehovah", and they could never meet in the middle to save the marriage.
others who leave, push their dub mate away by their constant verbal expressions against the organisation...because they think they should....hence, the marriage falls apart.. here's the hard part i don't know the answer to.

Gumby, yes, I agree with you about people being trapped in the org. How many wives are trapped in their marriage? They have no income, no place for shelter, to ashamed or embarrassed to go to family members for help. Take the case of abused wives who continually stay with their abusive husbands instead of doing something about it, why? Recently a professional football player was sent to prison for killing his wife, what a waste and shame! She tolerated her husband's bad behaviour and what did she get out of it?
I was coming from a different angle on this subject. I've met people who would rather take whatever life has to offer them, instead of living in an abused state.
I find nothing lacking with the poster because everyone is entitled to their views and expressions. Life like golf has many variables. It's sad and pitiful when people are trapped. The best I can offer them is encouragement and direct them to community assistance.

What does it take to be free or in bondage, sacrifice, no matter which way you look at it. Some people just let others think for them, they want to be free of responsibility. On the other hand, those who take the bull by the horns in life are a different breed. Gumby your post reminds me of what Joshua said, "Choose today whom you will serve." Josh.24:15 What's that saying, "S-it or get off the pot!" Guest77
