Nope, I did what I thought was the right thing at the time. Like today, I'm doing the right thing without guilt.

Does you feel guilty for those you brought into the org?
by ddean3673 indon't really know how i feel about that one.
my brother is in the truth because of what i "taught" him as well as my "example" according to others and him (he doesn't know my official stand yet).
an earlier post opened my eyes a little...i know now i didn't do it alone, and that i was trained to bring in others (one thing that i must say the training really helped me in my career as a sales director, ironically enough).. i was just wondering how other people view this.

How did 1975 affect you?
by AK - Jeff ini lived thru the 1975 fiasco.
many here did too.. on another board there was discussion about the way the congregations were before 1975. some thought that they were like small country churches in some ways.
we did our own work on repairs at the kingdom hall, like a family.

I've commented on this topic before. No, I was NOT disappointed, I really thought there was too much work left to do.
Even when I was a teenager in the fifties something didn't seem right, but, I kept my thoughts to myself. The New World translation was coming into existence, they were done in volumes and that took time. Now, if the end was coming (today, as they always make it) why the slow procedure in the translation? Years would pass for the next volume of the Hebrew scriptures to be completed. Studying the surviving Armageddon book was another example, over and over again. Anyways, those are my short thoughts.

Welcome.
Felip, don't flip out. Let time be your friend. Take things in stride and be patient.
You have a lot to think about, so I won't add anything that hasn't already been said.

WHEN DID APOSTACY SET IN?
by badboy in.
the jws claim to be a restoration of 1st century christianity, when did apostacy set in in theeir mindset?
-

Badboy, it's an interesting question. Apostasy in the first century occurred and was taking place 'within' the Christian congregations. There would be false teachers to misled others. When the last of the apostles died, apostasy would take on a bigger role, is this happening within the JW's? Are there teachers and groups subverting the faith of others 'within' the congregations?
Who's making it possible for these people to leave the JW's org?

The Tobacco Bombshell
by Dogpatch inthe tobacco bombshell
early in the decade of the 70?s, all jw?s were notified (in the tobacco-growing district) of a special meeting at the kingdom hall.
three representatives from wts, a district overseer and two circuit overseers delivered a symposium that brought an abrupt end for all jw?s working in the tobacco industry (whether selling cigarettes, manufacture, tobacco machinery, etc.

Randy, thanks a million for sharing that letter. It was beautifully and simplistically said. This is a print out letter to show others.
Give them my regards.

An Appalling Lack Of Manners & Social Graces
by Why Georgia inis it just me or are a lot of jehovahs witnesses just completely mannerless and lacking in social graces?.
examples....... they don't seem to say thank you for gifts or kindnesses.. i went to quite a few gatherings and burps and farts would happen without so much as a pardon me or excuse me.
i was even told once it's natural and there is no reason to say excuse me.. they will just stop in at your house if they are in the neighborhood and stay for however long without even calling or getting your hints that you happened to be on your way out.. i have met some very nice and polite witnesses but they are few and far between.. is my experience limited - has anyone else noticed rudeness, and a lack of manners and social graces?.
