Its' obvious that your still emotionally attached to him and that's to be expected. I'm going to let the females on this forum give you the encouraging thoughts you need. Just be patient, take a deep breath and relax.

OK folks chime in. I'm basing the following scriptural comments from Romans 2;21 "...do you, however, the one teaching someone else, not teach yourself?"
1.
James 1:27, "The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of God...to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation..."
Do they practice this form of worship, taking care of orpans and widows?
James 2:14-17 says, "If a brother or a sister is in a naked state and lacking the food sufficient for the day, yet a certain one of you (WTB&TS) says to them: "Go in peace, keep warm and well fed," but YOU do not give them the necessities for their body, of what benefit is it?
2.
Hebrews 10:24, "And let us consider one another to incite to love and fine works...encouraging one another..."
Once the love bombing is over, do they practice this form of worship?
Contribute some scriptures such as I have that show the above group have a "form of godly devotion but proving false its power and from these turn away?" 2 Tim 3:5

Greetings.
When your dealing with family members its' not the same, I know, I have six brothers and five sisters.
Why not print out the information you need from this forum and have them read it?
Other posters will give you some suggestions, hang loose.

Are YOU a Risk Taker?
by Golf ini am, how about you or do you prefer your comfort zone?
being a risk taker doesn't mean you have to put your life literally on the line i.e., did you ever stand up to someone in authority and give them a piece of your mind?
what are some of the things you did that you considered risk-taking?

Yeah females driving alone is 'risky.' You gotta make sure the car is in good condition when you venture out to other States. Grandma you say? How many times?
I'm glad to hear you have a fine relationship, emotionally, its a big plus, a must.
As to New England, well, I tell everyone I'm a Bostonian at heart. I grew up in the South End as a youngster, baseball was my religion.
Oh, my oldest sister lived in Kalmazoo but she's now in SF.Ca. I come from a large family. Coming from the old school, the witness faith didn't have a major affect on some of my bro's & sister's.
There's many things we do that are risky but we don't think about at the time, right?

To our JW friends, are we too spiritual minded for wife-swapping?
by ithinkisee inso the other night there was a wedding shower for my jw brother-in-law and his fiance'.. it was one of those wedding showers where couples attend.
all the guys sit in one room and watch football and complain about their wives, and all the women sit in the other room and gossip and bash their husbands.. well that is how it usually goes.
i looked around and noticed all the husbands were hovering over the others wives and flirting and talking dirty and gossiping and brushing up against each other and so forth.

"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, and they are fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct...sects..." Galations 5:16-22
I find it interesting that the word 'sects' is included in that scripture, hmmmmm 'child-molestation' and wife swapping, hmmmmmm, works of the flesh.
vs. 16 reads: "But I say, Keep walking by spirit and YOU will carry out no fleshly desire at all."
I'll let your imagination do the rest. -

Welcome to the forum. You say you've been with him for 4 years. I don't know how emotionally attached you are with him and him with you. I married my childhood sweetheart (non-witness) and we've been married for 43 years. I will admit, she is a strong person 'emotionally.'
It was a rollercoaster ride for her even though we knew each other since childhood. My situation was not due to the beliefs of the JW's but rather my domineering mother but it didn't help.
Someone suggested you introduce him to this forum, that's a good idea. All I can say is, there are no guarantees in a relationship. I just bought a new washing machine yesterday, it has a 5 year warranty, does that help?

Interesting love story flyinghigh. 15 yrs your jr. good for you. People who are 'doers' whether their witnesses or not, are risk-takers. I lived in Bridgeport Conn back in the 50's. My dad being a high steelworker (non-witness) traveled here and there for work and us younger ones had to tag along.
I agree with those who say risk taking is being on this forum. Mind you, it may not be comparable to cliff climbing or jumping out of planes but to them its still a risk, a risk of not be found out there spending time with folks who don't agree with the policy's of the WTB&TS.

When you were a JW, which would you have prefered living on earth or heaven
by JH inwhen you were a jw and believed that either you could live in heaven or on earth eternally, which did you prefer and why?.
although we were told that heaven was a better place to live, that we would see god, and that we would live eternally and never die, i prefered living on earth, never see god, and not 100% sure of living eternally, cause we would still be mortals forever, even though we could live eternally on earth.
most jw's i know said that they would have prefered living on earth eternally in perfect health than living in heaven.

Bigmouth, there's plenty of unsusual stories about golf. In 1996 a 51 year-old golfer was kicked and punched by a 26 year-old golfer for slow play, resulting in his death! You don't hear of such golf conduct on the news.
People's short tempers and impatience can be witnessed on golf courses.
