UB, how about the "Tower of Pisa?' It's leaning, the waters are starting to dry up.

Are Internet Apostates making the tower wobble?
by unclebruce inyaddayadda has an interesting post about us taking the fight directly back to the congregations.
all fine and dandy if you can stomach that type of thing.
i on the other hand think internet apostates should continue doing what they do best (and most enjoy).

It's just an up-to-date version in keeping track of us. When will they make chip implants compulsory? Will the day come when we won't have to carry purses and wallets? How about a cash-less society?
We have birth & marriage certificates, drivers license, social security numbers, bank accounts, hmmmmmmmmm can you think of others? Where are heading folks with this I.D. thing?

Why did the JW's Shun my mother at her funeral?
by DaveNwisconsin inmy mom had died on december 9, 2005. she had been loyal to that religion for 35 years.
she had been in a nursing home for the last two years.
some of the old ladies would come and mom would still write a letter to a "not at home" once and awhile.

Greetings and welcome.
DNW, you said a mouth full, "To me it speaks volumes about the people she knew."
Sorry to hear such stories. All the best.

Is the truth of something the path of least resistance?
by Spectrum inunless hidden or confused by disinformation i believe that knowing the truth is found by following the path of least resistance.
if this criterion is not met then you cannot conclude that you have the truth.
the truth has a way of sorting itself out unless unatural forces are used to skew it.

Spectrum, explain to me "...the path of least resistance" when it comes to truth.

Is getting married in Church a DA'able offense? Ping anyone with BOE manual
by Abaddon inhaving been fairly proud of my jw parent's behaviour (and to be honest, my handling of them) in the 13 years or so since i walked away i now find myself in a quandry.
i basically arranged my departure from the cult in such a manner that i would neither be da'd or df'd, to avoid a situation where their family loyalty might be streached by their adherence to organsiational law.
why should i play by their rules and write a letter leaving an imaginary religion?

Speaking from experience I got married in a Protestant Church in 1962, nothing happened.
But then again, the org. is known to change doctrines and policies right?
