i knew many people in the congregation that were dealt with terribly.
but most times, people were afraid to talk to the elders or were afraid they might get shunned by the more prominent ones in the congregation.
so they closed their eyes to their own friends being treated poorly and carried on as if nothing really was happening.
Friend or no friend, when there's an injustice, I jump in. If a so-called friend of mine committs an injustice, I let him know.

i received this e-mail from my sister (known here as 'nikita') on february 12th:
hi guys, just to fyi we had a fire that started in our dryer on tuesday night-fortunately, i was home (with ann's baby) and caught it at the early stages and was able to call the fire dept (another fortunate thing was our firemen just happened to be having a meeting and responded before the whistle sounded from the 911 center.
) but, even so, by the time they got here it was only minutes away from blowing as at the top of our basement stairs the temp.
The good news is that everyone is safe and sound. I'm a news watcher and I daily see such tragedies on TV and they are horrible.
Did the fire start in the dryer or the air dryer vent hose, the plastic type? My wife told me that the heat from the dryer can cause fire to the plastic vent hose. I've since changed mine to a metal ventilation.
Don't worry you'll get more response's from the forum.

hi friends,.
i read somewhere else of the thought that discussion boards for ex-dubs, are not the place to heal unless there is proffesional help onboard.
i disagree.
Gumby, I really thought for a moment I wouldn't see the word 'bastard' on your thread, but, it managed to surface.
As to your question? Any type of encouragement has a healing effect. Like anything else, some need it more than others. There's nothing like making someone feel 10 feet tall. No matter how strong a person maybe physically, emotionally and spiritually, we all need a pat on the back. As I said, some more than others.

hello, just introducing myself.
i'm an inactive witness, been so for a few months now.
got put off mostly by 1914 being hammered more and more lately, the child molestation issue, the un-ngo thing and just feeling like i don't want to shoot my mouth off and get labelled apostate so best to fade out.
Are you Harry Truman's girl? Anyways, welcome . Don't worry about being labeled you will. Enjoy.

wildturkey is helping her with running the pool tournaments and she told me i could do anything i wanted to , help myself to snacks , cokes ,beer , whatever.
she said i could sit behind the bar if anyone bothered me .
As they say, "There's always a first time." Tips lightens the load or pays the bills. Good for you.

disib77, greetings and welcome. No need to feel guilty to visit this forum. The scriptures encourages us 'to test our faith' and 'to make sure of all things.' How can we do that IF our personal inherent freedoms are hindered or denied? Your inalienable rights are between you and your Creator. We can only give up our inalienable rights by voluntarily submitting them to others. Think about it. Who are you answerable to?
