Do We Live in the Past to Try and Control the Future?
by frankiespeakin infrom what we know about time i think i can say: the exact instance of present before it becomes past must be very small perhaps 10 to the negative 34 i think there is some formula they use and call it "plank time" something or other.. .
so then if it takes our mind say takes 1/50th of a second to relay what it is percieving then when we get these images and impressions of these things that have already become the past,, do you see what i mean?
also all memory is of the past,,the mind stores memory to help it guide the body in what to do to make it comfortable,,and safe in the future but never really for the present.

SP, It's always encouraging to hear stories of people progressing to improve their lot in life. What's even more encouraging is when they share and help others from they've learned. I'm from a minority group (though it was once the majority) so I get your drift. Keep up the good work. Guest77

You can't describe real LOVE you can only decribe what it isn't.
by frankiespeakin in.
is that true?

You mean, when I bathe my wife and massage her with oils, it's not love? You mean, when I cook for my wife, it's not love? You mean, when I take her out to dinner every week, that's not love? You mean, taking care of her when she's not feeling well, is not love? If that's not describing love then what is it? Do you want me to carry on? Guest77

FJ. right on! There's no question that there's more than enough negativity everywhere. To combat this attitude requires discipline and patience. I've met a number of so-called worldy people in my travels who are positive in life. These people have experienced hardships but they don't dwell on it. Positive also means being realistic. GF, I'll have to keep those movies in mind. True successful stories shown on the screen are inspirational. Don't shy away from sharing other encouraging thoughts. Guest77

DY, in my study room I have this plaque and it reads, "Everyone Needs a Little help Now and Then." One of the things I've lerned in playing golf, especially tournaments is, everyone shakes hands at the end of the round and we have drinks together. I have always found that soooo encouraging, golf acquaintances and drinks, hmmmmm. In golf, a well excecuted shot is highly complimented, sinking a crucial putt is even more rewarding. Guest77

Under74, to make adjustments when leaving the org., you need to give yourself time and don't expect great things out of yourself in the begining. Make good use of time, make it your friend. I'm getting along in years like everyone else, but, I've made good use of my time. I've learned to be content and not expect miracles. As to compliments, how about complimenting yourself for practicing acts of mercy and compassion? We all have our strengths and weaknesses, the trick is to make these qualities work for us. For instance, if we make it a habit to dwell on the negatives without the positives our cars/vehicles will not start. Yes, it's a balancing act, however, we need to take the bull by the horns and say, enough is enough with the negatives of life. Developing a positive attitude requires time and effort, in the long haul of life it has its rewards. Why allow the negatives of life rob you of joy and happiness that you deserve, why? People who have set goals and have reach out have reaped rewards. Think about it, again, the best to you. Guest77

Christians believe in Christ, that being so, what did the Christ believe in? Without question the Bible has been fiddled with, but all of it? How many of us have bought merchandise that require assembling? Have you experience missing parts to the assembly? How about the diagram, was it the correct one or did it include other models and it confused you? I know I have. The Bible being fiddled with has missing parts or the wrong parts were inserted, hmmmmm. In short, if the Bible is not a book of information for us humans, then what do you suggest and is your suggestion bullet proof? Guest77

Under74, thanks for your comments. Tell me, what have you done to overcome this awkwardness? In my travels, some have said, physical activities and a change in lifestyle has given them a better outlook on life. For me, I no longer dwell on what JW's do, then again, did I 'really' dwell on what JW's did since I was into sports? Having this attitude made it easier for me to adjust. Take the positives of what you have learned and build it on it. In sports when a team is losing, they go back to the basics. Why should life be any different? Fight the negatives with the positives you've accomplished in life. The rewards are there. The best. Guest77
