Tell them God made beards for men. Why MUST men who love God not enjoy that which HE gave them? Facial hair is from God.

G'day mates,
Good point. Also although Hebrews 10:24 says don't neglect gathering which can spark love and fine works it does not mandate a frequency.
For reasons like these the Free Christians fellowship leaves it up to each group of 2 or more friends as to when, where, how often to gather:

LAWSUIT ANNOUNCEMENT
by Amazing ini have made contact with a journalist in new england who is planning to attend the recent lawsuit filed in wilton, nh against the jw elders, the congregation, and the watchtower society in new york.
the writer will give me direct reports which i am permitted to pass along to you as the trial progresses.. we are waiting to find out exactly which courthouse it will be held and what the trial dates are before finalizing plans.
however, as each trial day ends, i will post any updates as i receive them.. should you have any question or issues that you want the journalist to respond to or pay special attention to, then feel free to comment below and i will pass these along.

You have often spoken of this one trial as if its outcome will totally make or break the will of Anderson & Rinehardt (and other attorneys) to pursue additional cases of child abuse against the Watcthower Society. It won't. If it's lost due to some technicality for example, the series of lawsuits will still continue. Nor will the views of your source and yourself sweep away the sentiments and and realities of the rest of us which are definitely for the victims.

Here's a way to dodge point-blank questions like "Do you believe we're in the last days?" or "Do you believe this is the only group for those who love Jehovah?"
Say "I think it's best just to listen to whatever you may have to say. Don't interpret silence on my part as meaning anything one way or the other. The Bible says to listen." And look thoughtful as they read Hebrews 10:24 about not neglecting meetings although that verse actually doesn't give any frequency that must be observed as a rule.
They'll like all that. Offer the couple a glass of water or sandwich. Be non-commital but not outright rude. If they invite you to come back to the kingdom hall meetings tell them "well, I know where they're at." or something, again, non-commital but not outright rude.
After probably 15 minutes they'll be done. Make a point to say nothing to anyone at all afterwards, including not praying outloud in your own bedroom.
Later when you're out of your own might be your best time to disassociate or whatever. If this situation makes you feel upset, just try to stay cool for then. You can always mail/email stuff to the congregation(s) later :) :) :), so no you're NOT without power, not powerless, and their efforts to pressure you will instead MOTIVATE YOU.
See? :)

JW Child Abuse: An Insider's Insight
by silentlambs ini post the following at the request of barbara anderson.. .
as a result of the newspaper report calling attention to my actions i feel compelled to provide further information that has come to light and deserves full exposure.. the society is very much aware of my intentions, because of a private e-mail i innocently wrote someone was forwarded to the society without my permission.
you can read it in its entirety, below.

It's been said November may be the month instead of October due to all the new material being filmed etc. Thank you Barbara Anderson for helping our kids and grandkids and greatgrandkids.
It would be nice if some District Overseers and others would meet to openly form an opposition group, wouldn't it.
Until that might occur - we no longer hold our breath though - there's pro-Jehovah anti-Watchtower fellowship gotten fast by sending an email [email protected]; or visit the Free Christians website at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jahchristian
Anyone getting disfellowshipped over this issue should also use it as an opportunity to write letters to news editors telling exactly what's going on!

Where Do I Go Now?
by individual inwith all the problems in the 'truth' and all the things that we know are wrong with it there seems to be aspects of their theology (i.e the sequences of the world powers, statue in daniel, the promise of world restoration again found in daniel) that to me still make sense.
although i cannot follow a religion that believes in the destruction of all humanity barring those that respond to their own preaching work i still believe in a creator and cannot accept the teachings of other religions that have no purpose for the earth and believe that mankinds only destiny is in heaven.
my mind keeps telling me that if god was behind a religion it would be so much better than that of the jws.

Write down your beliefs. Invite friends to your home or somewhere like a park to have a good time, share scriptures and hear those beliefs. But keep it centered on God and Christ instead of yourself.

Ray Franz Books Left People With No Where To Go?
by drahcir yarrum insomeone reported in another thread that ray franz has grown concerned that his books have not helped those who have read them because it left them with nowhere to go.
i'm reminded of a phrase that i heard repeatedly during my 30 years as a watchtower toady.
"if this isn't the truth, then there is no truth".

Franz did a good deed in exposing many wrongs about the Watchtower Society.
He did not form an alternative to it although his second book, In Search Of Christian Freedom, IF you read it closely including every single scripture provides a general outline for an acceptable alternative. Franz describes a fellowship based on love and simple basics instead of rigid doctrines.
I find that in the Free Christians movement where groups allow Christian freedom, and are structured as independent but cooperative, to work against anyone's efforts to organize them into a new cult organization: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jahchristian
Probably most do still teach resurrection on earth and to heaven, one of the reasons other groups oppose the fellowship though it reaches out to help all regardless of name groups if any at all.
Most of you commenting here are either naware of its existence, or think it is still just a handful of people.
The WTS will not reform. That became clear several years ago, but there is now a viable alternative.

Where Do I Go Now? Is There An Answer??

The answer is Christ and wholesome new fellowship so try this egroup which includes groups and individuals of other beliefs but also a fellowship for anyone including those who still believe for example that:
Jah will resurrect some on earth and others to serve with Christ from heaven:
Just ask [email protected] for the free regular newsletters and he will be glad to send you an invitation to the egroup. You can unsubscribe to the newsletters (1-3 a week) anytime.
The fellowship is LOVE rather than uniformity of beliefs based, Colossians 3:14 explaining love is the perfect bond of union. The website helps non-religious individuals and support groups too. Some readers getting services are ex-JWs who became atheists, Baptists, Catholics, etc.
So it's nonprofit and offers services to all in (and outside) the broader Free Christians movment, not just spiritually associating groups and individuals.
To me it's comforting to know there is a wholesome alternative to the Watchtower Society, although those of other groups wanting ex-JWs, also oppose the fellowshipping.

How Would You Respond?
by silentlambs ini know this is kind of like shooting fish in a barrel, but i just have to share this email i got a few minutes ago.
i think it encapsulates the response many will have, no matter what is said about the molestation issue.
i invite you read it, put yourself in my shoes, and see how you might offer a response.
-

They do seem to imply you had better "shut up" your exposing the Watchtower Society's policy of covering up child molestors etc, which means they themselves support the Watchtower and that policy; and since child-molestation is heinous, what they are saying is illogical, inhuman and sounds like it came from the WTS Governing Body's own first-hand toadies. Makes us all wonder if Leo Greenlees wasn't the only pedophile who ever sat on that so-called annointed body in Brooklyn. They really should have left you alone, Bill. This can only boomerang on them, compound their problems.

!!BREAKING NEWS!! ELDER SET EXECUTION
by exodus inwell my friend, after a second attempt to reach out to me and give me the decision last night i received an unexpected visit from two of the local elders.
apparently the two wts agents decided to pass the torch to the local elders this time.
this was organized by the co along with wts instructions.

Use their disfellowshipping you as an opportunity to have your local newspaper publish a letter-to-the-editor by you telling some of what they've done to you including to other people such as the children their policies allow to be molested and bleed to death. What's holding you back?
Inform the public this way. It'll also set a good example for others who get disfellowshipped or disassociate :)
As to wholesome fellowship with other ex-JWs this website is open to all in the Free Christians movement regardless of belief system(s): http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jahchristian
