recently i read a thread where someones e-mails had been hacked by local elders.

i have been e-mailing with a very nice person who has started 'independently thinking' lately.

because of this thread i wrote her that she should be careful of people finding her e-mails.. the very next day her husband had hacked into her e-mails and was very upset.. i was just wondering for all of you- how many have experiences like this?.

Yes, Adonai, people who hide pedophiles as ordered to keep up the image of the WTS do also do things like hack and invade privacy in other ways.

He was a JW when he wrote the $30,000 in fraudulent checks; later was disfellowshipped because he was judged "unrepentant" of check fraud or something else, still later for unknown reasons went even more criminal and killed his family. Having been a JW so many years appears to have snapped him although that too is only a guess, things being unclear at this time. Wait for the trial to bring out details.

Being concerned about having emails messed with is not ludicrous or paranoid but a genuine possibility which sometimes does happen. In fact entire websites are sometimes hacked, and those have included ones opposed to the Watchtower Society.

i am shocked at the many accusations against jehovah's witnesses in this forum.. i know that i am young, but most of my family are jws and they are good people and i love them.

even my worldly family is very nice and i do not shun them.

the friends in the hall are very nice also.

Most JW family and friends are nice but the Watchtower policies covering up pedophilia and causing people to bleed to death are EVIL, yes. The attacks are not again You but the men in Brooklyn who caused and allow this.

Although a cult their material is copyrighted and a single violation may bring you a fine of possibly $250,000; but it appears that one may nevertheless make "fair usage" for example if conducting research then presenting the gist of what the copyrighted source has to say to a community of readers at least insofar as the material is for a "compelling need to know" and does not infringe upon the rights of the copyrighting party e.g. to retain money derived from the original materials etc.

In other words there are ways around the road block. As they always say, consult a lawyer (I'm not one) if you have questions and especially since they have given you a warning.

QUESTION: What religion are you in now? ...

this got me to thinking.... now that most of us have left the wts, i notice some have taken other belief systems.

some have come to a peace with their own ideas.. my question is are you involved with another religion?

has it brought you more peace or happiness?

It's understandable that many feel burnt out and betrayed by the Watchtower Society. I myself am a Free Christian now.

Free Christians believe in unity championing Christian freedoms (Ro14:1-5), love (Col 3:14) & the simple basics at Heb6:1-2. Beyond those there are no requirements although many including exJWs do also gladly help expose cults & dictatorships (Re 18:4), help the poor (Ga 2:10), respect Earth (Ec 1:4), believe the meek will receive earthly resurrection and others go serve from heaven (Mt5:5,6:9,Re19:1), the energy/spirit being Satan (Job1,2,Mt4) not God caused human suffering, Christ & Paul say call God our "Father" for closeness(Mt6:9,Ro8:15) although Yah(weh), Jehovah or the tender Jah as in "hallelu-jah" (Praise Jah/the Lord) are acceptable, God's Spirit & symbolic water baptise, God forgives emergency blood usage (1Sa14:32-5,Mt12), tithing’s not required (Mt5:17, 23:23, Re7:6, 10:34, 2Co3:7-11).

Gatherings may be via internet, in homes etc; groups may pick servants though Christ's the only Leader over all (Mt23:13,1Ti2:5) as with earliest Christianity & most Protestant groups 400 years, select their own names (example Jah Christians). There's a free newsletter for exJWs & friends from all belief systems that contains a weekly Bible chapter for those wanting unified reading of the Bible itself. When Reform Becomes Impossible

Things are already happening. Last year we heard of problems in India. People are quitting outright or in their activity. More going on the internet finding the real truth every day. A day or two ago someone said he was a CO in Britain on here and that he is compiling documents. I believe more like him are doing the same in the U.S. to protect their rear ends. Some of it is going to going into the courtroom arena when Anderson & Reinhart lawsuits drag COs in who will be bringing the documents. Some will get into the media and on the internet even before then. As you say finances are falling as morale plummets. ExJWs support groups and nonWTS Bible Groups are organizing. Yes, I believe you're right. This will be an interesting year!
